Re: Vibram Five Fingers for Erging
Five fingers are the best thing that ever happened to my feet. If you can get your hands on a pair(they are always backordered) then do it. Now on the topic of VFF's for erging, unless you are working out at a gym I see no reason to ever wear footwear on an erg. At a gym, sure the VFF's will be grea...

Re: Handle Bio-mechanics
so, is there a place where we can purchase the slidewinder handle or is it not for sale? It looks like a pretty nice design overall. I usually only hold my handle with my index, middle and third finger(letting my pinky dangle off the edge) to get a wider grip and as the handle approaches my chest I ...

Re: Mission accomplished (now what?)
One word: kettlebell I thought it was a stupid fad too...... until I tried it. Now Im hooked. It works everything, it does strength, coordination, cardio, etc... And you just have to buy one bell, although once youre hooked you will end up buying more. http://www.dragondoor.com/kettlebellkettlebells...

Shoxbox: a review
I purchased the shoxbox a month or so ago for the purpose of adding leg resistance to my home erg setup, and to see if it really helped to lower strain on the back from each pull. I have now put over 100K on it so I figured a short review was in order. I must say that I love raising the back of the ...

PM4 only sort of logs my meters
So, I was at 99,970 life time meters yesterday morning. I rowed 10K late in the afternoon. After my 10K my lifetime meters said 100,034. If I view by date, it says I rowed a 10K, but only 64 meters were added to my lifetime meters on my profile. Any idea whats wrong with it? Is this a sending it bac...

Day 1 of the real pete plan(my transition from the beginner plan): 8x500m intervals with 3:30 rest averaged just under 1:50 splits and was breathing so heavy at the end of my last set my girlfriend thought that I wasn't ok. Cooled off with a moderate 3K to get my lifetime meters to a nice even numbe...

I was debating that product as well, although it didnt occur to me that it might help with butt pain. It does seem to me that being on an erg with an inclined rear post would make you work the drive a lot more with you quads, but I bet you could be lulled into some bad habits on the recovery because...

has anyone here actually pulled on one? It seems like a good idea but I worry it feels awkward. Id sure like to try one though, I returned my slides because I take apart my machine between uses for storage so it wasnt convenient but if this machine feels good to row on Ill be selling my model D for ...

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the help and not criticism for my simple Q's that were clearly just a quick search away. Got my strapless+core perform 2K down to 8:00 and Ive put a total of less than 50K on the machine so far. Ive almost finished mounting my new Dreher carbon seat, so we sha...

well, 10,000m later and I still needed to get up 3 times during my workout. It was a heck of a lot better than with the pad backwards(duh!), but Im still going to keep my order for the carbon seat top and pad and see if its any better. It'd be nice if it was my fitness level causing me to take break...

well, I feel pretty silly. I did not have the seat on backwards(it came pre attached, dont they all?), BUT I did have the pad on backwards! I shall report back later tonight in about 10,000 meters or so, and hopefully can cancel my fancy carbon fiber seat order and save myself some cash... You guys r...

So just for me, can you row strapless for a few tries? I find strapless rowing forces me to sit up more and balance more on my butt. This changes the pressure points, and at least for me, results in a lot less butt pain. Well, I can row strapless, but not at nearly as high of a strokes per minute r...
