Re: iPhone erg app
I noticed this app is still in the App Store but that the website referenced does not pull up. Earlier in the thread there is mention of the app communicating with the C2 log site. Is that a part of the current version 1.3? I would like to use an iPhone/iPad for tracking progress for the larger/bri...

Re: iPhone erg app
Glad it worked out. I always doubted whether to allow or not the leading 0. In practice, I quickly got used to adding the 0, and it is helpful with some computations. Sorry it wasn't clearer.comictimes wrote:That works! Thanks, I feel dumb now

Re: iPhone erg app
I just found this app and perhaps it's just acting screw on my phone (I have an iPhone 5) but when I try to enter a split (say to calculate how long a 10k would take at a given split) it defaults to putting the colon in the tens place. So if I enter "1450" for a 1:45.0 split instead it will think I...

Re: iPhone erg app
I have toyed with the idea - the signal that goes from the erg to the monitor is an auditory one; recording and graphing it out does give some information on wheel spin velocity. But the formulas that C2 uses to translate these into meaningful results are proprietary, and the best anyone can do is g...

Re: iPhone App?
I have just added an update to ErgCalc to include that functionality. It's under review by Apple.
It's delighting to see so many choices of apps for this particular purpose.

The Concept2 weight adjustment formula (which I also use in my ErgCalc calculator) is only to compare split times from people with varying weights. I use it when comparing erg scores - the heavy girl may do better than the light girl split-time wise, but once you take their body weight differences i...

I updated the app two weeks ago. The new version includes a Wolverine Level 4 timer, something that comes in very handy while coaching. If I have a group doing Level 4 workouts, I just program the iPhone, have someone be 'stroke' and have her call out rate changes. The next version will have integra...

I really like the app and have a few questions/suggestions: A 'clear all' button for the pace/total time/distance calculator (main screen) would be helpful. It seems that the Paul's law calculations are not corrected for weight. Is that correct? Thanks for the suggestions, really useful! You are co...

Just got the app and it works great - very convenient whether you row at home or at a gym. Easy to use, accurate and quick - exactly what I needed. When's the Wolverine Plan addition coming and will I be able to upgrade to the updated app for free? Thanks for the feedback! I am currently testing th...

It's not easy to time well for the more complex L4 workouts. Their structure may be rather simple (20 or 30 times 2', 16/18 alternating), but I like the ones most where the length varies a little (pyramids, 6' pieces, etc.). But then, keeping track is a hassle - I find it hard myself. Maybe I'm alon...

The latest version has appeared in the app store. I added functionality to calculate Watts, Kcalories, DPS, SPI, and weight adjustments. This information is typically available from the PM3 too, but sometimes I want to calculate it on historic pieces. I use the weight adjustments to quickly look up ...

I wrote an app for the iPhone, ErgCalc, available from iTunes from iTunes . (website: http://www.ergcalculator.com ). The app helps you calculate splits, times, distances, predicted results (if you want to know how your 2K would relate to a 6K, or a 250m). I recently added per-stroke statistics, suc...

There's no correct rating for a distance. It depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're trying to get stronger, go for a low rate, and pull hard each stroke. If you're working on conditioning, go for a mix of medium rate/medium pace and low rate/hard strokes. The Pete plan differs from the ...

The point is mainly to train the aerobic system. You're judging the workout by the time it takes to complete, but some workouts are done better slower than faster. The lower SPM forces you to make longer, harder strokes - depending on whether you're at the lower end or the higher end of the range, i...

Re: No0B with a question - erg/PM consistency
First of all, I just want to introduce myself. I'm a new rower (less than a year), but I swam competitively for a very long time, including during my undergraduate studies. All the aerobic and anaerobic conditioning has definitely helped with the transition to rowing, although I did have a 2-year t...
