Aside from the rowing factor make yourself liked amoungst the coaches maffins etc never go amiss. Also make sure a nice injury free person that always helps. I own one pair which are Rough Trade a small company which have since gone out of buisness. They have a double lined bottom which makes it a little more comfortable, most other rowing shorts i have seen are just cycle shorts with out the chamis. Im a rower while coxing our teenage novice boys i asked them to row like men not boys which worked well.
