Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Really surprised by this Stu. Hard to see how you would have cocked up the diy. There's only the bolt at each end of the shaft to tighten up. Did you leave them loose or something? Did the bolt shear off at the edge of the hanger like before or somehow different? As you know mine went about 18 mont...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Should have been 8 x 500 3r. With about 50m remaining on the penultimate interval, the hangar shaft bolt snapped AGAIN. I'd like to say it's due to my extreme power, but it's probably due to my poor DIY, or a faulty part. Really surprised by this Stu. Hard to see how you would have cocked up the di...

Re: Syncing between Ergdata and PM5
My understanding is you can either hit the menu button twice, or wait 6 seconds, after you stop, and hit it once. FWIW I've never heard of that. I simply end the piece - often then need some moments (!) which may be more than 6 secs - but either straight away or in a few seconds I only ever press m...

Re: calorie counter
I couldn't see your picture without accepting cookies....but stuff you should perhaps be aware of if not already. The erg and PM5 is a very accurate measure of the work that you are doing. This is expressed in either pace or watts. There is also the potential to display calories, but this is at best...

Re: Pete's Plan Spreadsheet
While hesitant to put my head above the parapit in this, I take a different view to both. Mike set out clearly above his history and contribution to the sport - most of which is known to those of us who were around in the last millenia. Its a hugely strong position - unrivalled knowledge, reseach, a...

Re: Pete's Plan Spreadsheet
Although PPs named Beginner/2k/5k they can all be effective for everyone from newbie to erging god - as indeed Pete was in his prime and still is in age group! I’m curious about how one is designated an “erging god”. Is it based on objective performance, or merely hyperbole? Ha! My text so definiti...

Re: Pete's Plan Spreadsheet
All plans can be effective for everyone as they're generally progressive with repeat cycles of the same workouts. I found PPs 3 week cycle too short for me to have time to adapt so made up my own extra similar pieces and cycle over 6 weeks instead. Although PPs named Beginner/2k/5k they can all be e...

Re: Pete's Plan Spreadsheet
Ummm - No! Which Pete Plan is it you want? Beginner? 2k? 5k? You'll have seen Pete's blog site which contans all of the plans https://thepeteplan.wordpress.com/5k-training/ The 5k plan is set out very similarly to a std spreadsheet. The others are similar but slightly less detailed. I'm guessing you...
Re: 30R20
And it would mean you can set up a 30r20 with 30 splits, do 29 at r21 and the last one on r20 to get an overall of r20? So get a PM5 average of 20 for 629 strokes... Yep. That was my starting assertion, but I didn't know then that it had to be done with specific splits. Its what Cam Buchan openly t...

Re: Newbie here - how does Rowerg work in conjunction to ergdata, logbook and PM5
Or do I need to run the ergdata app 'live' while I row, for the data to be captured correctly? Welcome Lou - well done on getting the erg and starting - a lifetime of fun (!) ahead. I'm not sure I could answer all of your Questions individually and keep it cohesive so, yes to the above question, an...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
After some feedback on the below data, woke up and decided to try 21000 mtrs. Thoughts? Time 1:57:25.6 Distance 21000 m Ave. Pace 2:47.7 1500m Target Pace 2:50.0/500m Ave. Stroke Rate 17 s/m Target Stroke Rate 26 s/m Ave. Power 74 watt Drag Factor 118 First thought why 21k and not 21097m to get a s...
Re: 30R20
OK...we've got there. I did 399 strokes in 20 mins with 2 min splits and got r20 in every split and an r20 overall result. I did 399 strokes in 20 mins with 1 min splits and got r20 in 19 splits, an r19 in the last split and an r19 overall result. So we now know: 19.5 rounds up not down. You can "ga...
