Re: Pete Plan Thread
6'5" Yes, my rates seem low to me too. Not intentional. I need to work on getting those numbers up. Bloody hell, you're a giant! :D What kind of stroke length do you pull? Thank's for replies, I got 6:27.2 in 2018 rankings. After following p plan for 9 weeks. Hoping do a better score this time. Now...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Wow, nice 2k Bob, you flew on that first split too! Good news on the back too Mike. At least you're still able to get some decent cardio work in so shouldn't lose much pace in the meantime. I had a crack at the CTC today instead of doing the endurance intervals as I realised I was out Friday and wou...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Today was the CTC for George King 2,818m for time. 10:01.4 for a pace of 1:46.7 Nice! I'm going to do the CTC this Friday, not sure I'll get anywhere near that time though.. :D Just be cautious on the longer pieces and don't go too fast. Really make them recovery rows if needed. I've made that mist...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
I'll keep checking in from time to time. I don't think I'll be out too, too long. It's more of a nuisance than anything. Damn, that's gutting. You were flying on the 5k plan too. Fingers crossed a bit of rest will have you back on it in no time and at least you still have the bike so you won't lose...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Speed intervals today, target was 1:44.9. It's interesting doing them with the HRM too and I've worked out that just over 170bpm is the magic number where things start to get hard(er) for me! Slightly disappointed as well as they've released the venue and date for the BRIC in December and I'm away t...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
My target was 1:53 . Should be closer to my 5 x 1500m pace of 1:50.2, but that extra 500m and 5 mins less rest is trouble for me. I found the same, I pushed a few weeks back to see if I could do it at the same pace as the 4x2km but I just gassed out on the second or third interval. It's surprising ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
It's long. It takes a long time. That's the frustrating part. At my pace it takes 44 minutes and sometimes I just don't wanna row for nearly an hour. But then I talk myself into why I'm doing this. Remind myself I've made good progress since starting and it's small steps like this that got me where...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
RowPro couldn't handle the varying intervals. Other than that, I'm pleased with my 1st pass through. I've struggled with the intervals on RowPro and made a few mistakes so didn't even try to program in the pyramid this time round. I need to have a play and work it out properly really. Solid pacing ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Do you try to hit the same pace on all of the intervals? I"m doing my 1st PP 2.1 in a couple days. Should I target something close to what I did on PP 1.1 (8x500)? I've just let the pace for them come naturally. I started my first cycle fairly conservative to give myself targets I knew I could hit ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
@Rob I didn't listen to Mike & others when they told me to take it easy on the SS work. I think I missed 3, maybe 4, weeks in total due to injuries from not taking advice. The link below is to one of my favorite posts I've seen on here. https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=170912 That's a go...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
PP C1.W1.D1 8x500m 3:30r Used target pace of 1:52 since 1:52.7 was my last average on BPP 8x500m 2r Nice! Is this your first cycle on the PP? You must have been a blur on the last rep at 37 SPM! :D W3/D4 of the 5K Pete Plan (1800 X 4/4'). Target was 1:58.2 (what I did on the 4 X 1650 last week, so ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Thanks for the kind words Scott/Ange. Appreciate it. I sometimes feel like my ramblings should be titled, "Avg Guy that will Never Hit Sub 7 and Makes Every Mistake you Can Along the Way...". That would be an apt title to my rowing journey! It's nice to know that you don't have to be the strongest ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
I recently set a personal best on the 30 min row, but it was when I was visiting friends and did the row in an air-conditioned gym. I normally row in my garage; the temperature it not bad, but it is certainly not air conditioned. Do other people notice the effect of cooler gym leading to better row...
