put a low table next to the erg with some catering type disposable cups on it each with a mouthfull of drink put a bucket next to your feet grab a cup as you finish the stroke drink on the way down the slide and drop it into the bucket ![Wink :wink:](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

try a pair of wrist bands I found its not so much the palms sweating its sweat running down the arms onto the hands thats the problem

Just checked out the result of the GB rowing trials the fastest in the 2k erg test was 23rd in the otw test ..the best on the erg are the best on the otw?

The difference between 30 spm @ 12 SPI and 28 sppm @ 10 SPI is is 80 watts, nine seconds per 500m.

It would be interesting to see this study repeated using cyclists or rowers running is a high impact exercise possibly the shock hitting the heart every step could be the cause of this and not the exercise itself

During the last VTC I erged 351000m in the month ..my best speed 10k at the time was about 1:58pace I rowed 45min to 1h a day at 10k+10 averaging 2:08.5 for the 350k I have been rowing for 18months had no background in the sport and am a skinny 51 year old so yes big distances are totaly possible :w...

Sometimes just a new point of view can help, my son started rowing a month ago and just could not get the drive right off hand I said dont think of pushing with your legs think of getting your knees down fast instead ..that seemed to make the difference once you feel the drive its like a revelation ...

If you thought we were confused/frustrated by Ranger, read a few comments by the professor's students. This is a rowing forum and while it's ok to tear rangers training apart I think attacking his work is just plain wrong what are you going to do next find some neighbours who dislike him? lets just...

Well done on your sub 20 5k that was also my first target when I started 17 months ago I am now trying to get sub 2:00 splits for the ranking distances up to the hm, managed it up to the hour but not the hm yet 2:02 is the best I have managed so far I dont know if I will ever achieve it but its fun ...
