Re: Ranger's training thread

ranger wrote:I took 15K of good strokes, 1:48 @ 21 spm, as they would be measured by a stroke counter on a speed coach, such as my NK XL2.
WTF has the XL2 got to do with it? You say you did 15K OTErg.

It's all in the PM4. Recall it. Take a picture. Post it.

That's just your opinion. And opinions are as common as arseholes.

Re: Ranger's training thread

Sure. That's what I'm going to do. Just for the discipline of it, though, I will start with a FM and work down. No no no ranger. You miss my point. You are _already_ doing it in your 15K training rows. You could, for example, set the dial for 5K and row 1:48 at 21 spm then rank it. Pause for a few ...

ranger,

This is awesome stuff.

I can't understand why you aren't ranking these 60+ lwt rows. Just get an IND_V tag and you can instantly have top spot at all distances. And that's rowing at just 21 spm. Amazing :!:

ranger wrote:Interestingly, in his Olympic years, Xeno liked to do most of his meters in his 1x at 21 spm.
Why is that interesting? Xeno is a hwt, a powerful athlete and a stylish sculler.

You scull like a lobster.

I don't see any connection.

Re: Ranger's training thread

At 15 seconds per 500m over erg times, 1:52 @ 30 spm OTW is the equivalent of 1:37 @ 30 spm OTErg, and ranger can't do that for even 500m, either, not even 48 strokes, much less 1K, 96 strokes, before exactly the same thing happens. He goes blue in the face from the strain and effort of the task an...

Re: Ranger's training thread

I am delighted with 2:10 @ 22 spm with a UT2 HR rowing OTW in my 1x. I don't consider that to be a failure at all. No 60s rower is any better. 40 of the 50 boats last year at the Head of the Charles didn't pull 2:10 for the 3 miles. Leadville didn't pull 2:10, either. Have you pulled 2:10 @ 22 OTW ...

Re: Ranger's training thread

Since, as you now admit, your sculling sucks and there is a lot work on, why did you claim just yesterday that only fitness work was all that remained to be done? In order to prepare for a lwt 1:34/6:16 at 60 OTErg, that's true. Just fitness stuff remains to be done. No, Dufus. Go back, read and re...

Re: Ranger's training thread

So, what we should be discussing here is what we are doing in order to get better. Well whatever you're doing isn't working. Your sculling sucks  Training isn't at all about results. It is actually. Because training is about progression and progression is about intermediate results. This is w...

Re: Ranger's training thread

ranger, Just what is going on in your head when you say: a) I now move the boat/row as well as Mike; and b) I only have fitness things to work on? It's a good job you didn't get any entry for the HotC. They would have been throwing concrete, cars and children at you from the bridges. Anything to get...

Re: Ranger's training thread

Even for a big heavyweight, 27 spm is a pretty normal rate for 60min OTErg. No, it isn't. Sure it is. That's what Zrower rates for 60min. 1:42 @ 27 spm (12.2 SPI) Idiot. Since when did a sample of one define the norm? ranger, If it was shite the first time it's still shite the second time. Repetiti...
