Re: Aortic Aneurysm
Hello JoeCruise. Yes. I have an app't with my cardiologist next week. Hi already told after seeing the MRI that I should avoid hi cardio exercises like weight lifting, etc. And when rowing I should be able to carry on a conversation. I will get more specific in person with the doctor. Thanks for you...

Aortic Aneurysm
Hello. I have been diagnosed with an Aortic Aneurysm. My cardiologist put me thru an Echo Cardiogram and an MRA (similar to an MRI, but it looks at the arteries). He just told me the prognosis, which is watch and wait. The Aneurysm is at least 3 years old and may have been there for a number of year...

Diaphragm Strain
Hello. I am re-starting an exercise and cardio regimen on the rower, but I think I have strained my diaphragm. Its just a little sore so I am wondering if I should hold off on rowing until my diaphragm heals. Thanks! Marvinh

Rower AND Exercise Bike
Hello - I have the Concept 2 model D and an exercise bike. I started out doing a few minutes on the bike and then went on the rower. My question is:
The rower exercises the legs so can I skip the bike and just row? I understand the rower works the whole body so I'm good with that.
Thanks. MarvinH

Re: My Age
Thank you everyone for your insightful replies regarding rowing after a DVT blood clot in the leg and my age (74). I just spoke to my physician and he gave me clearance to go back to rowing. I was on Eliquis for a few months and that resolved the DVT clot. He did say some residual swelling could tak...

Re: My Age
I have a family friend missing a leg owing to a DVT. You have both of yours. You can row but should you? If you were shy about asking the attending physician after treatment, ask now. You still get to decide for yourself. Hi jackarabit. Yes, I will specifically ask my physician about rowing after t...

Re: My Age
DVT? On blood thinners? Cleared for activity, specifically erging, by your MD? Yes. Blood clot was from DVT. I was on Eliquis for about 5 months and the clot is cleared. I just had a physical with an EKG. I didn't mention specifically to ERG, but my physical was good. Thanks for your reply. MarvinH

My Age
Hello. I have been rowing on & off for a number of years. My latest injury (not related to the ERG) was a blood clot in my left leg. I was careful to have my leg heal before continuing on the ERG. So that brings me to my current age. I am 74 and hope to start again. Is 74 to old to start again? I kn...

Re: Rowing after blood clot in leg
Hello JimG. Yes, the blood clot is caused by a DVT. I did get the doctors approval to start rowing again, and I am doing it very slowly at first. I have been under treatment with Eliquis for almost 3 months, so I am not concerned with worsening the blood clot or having another one. The original bloo...

Rowing after blood clot in leg
Hello. I continue to be treated for a blood clot in my left leg. The doctor has given me the OK to resume rowing and I started again today with no ill effects. Even with a slow start (only 3 minutes) I immediately felt the endorphins start to 'kick in' and I felt more energy for the rest of the day....
