Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
To view past challenge results and team leaderboard, you still have to access the old site, correct? Also, the old guidelines allowed slides/dynamic but the new ones say slides are not allowed, no mention of dynamic. If there is to be more discussion, my vote is to allow slides and dynamic rowers. ...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
@everyone Attention! The CTC is moving to a new site on 1st March 2024. The old site will no longer accept entries. https://insideindoor.com You will need to go there and register yourself an account. A slightly more detailed post will follow on Thursday explaining the sign up steps, if it isn’t obv...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Think you need to stick with the 250s. Changing it now after I’ve announced it in the Facebook group just looks silly. Just needed clarification on overrating one or any of the reps, which you’ve given. I think they’ll be a lot of invalid efforts where people accidentally go to rate 21. Lastly, you ...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
I just trialled this session. Slowest rep is always gonna be rep 1 from a static flywheel. Pretty easy to match that and go a few splits faster on reps 2-5 when the flywheel is already in motion and you can go from a rolling start, but no real incentive to push on if you’re only scoring the slowest ...

Re: Drag Factor… Again
Back in my RowErg days, it was usually considered best practice to pick a DF you felt comfortable with and use it exclusively for every piece aside from extremely short or extremely long efforts. Is this the same on the Bike Erg or are there different schools of thought on this? My goal is to focus...

Here is the Mercian Fitness choice for the January CTC: ESME'S DELIGHT 6 x 250m SPM Limited to 20SPM 60 Secs Min Rest Between Intervals Slowest Interval Counts Record Your Time for the Slowest Interval This is totally, totally daft. Can it be changed? Specifying 20spm on such short intervals is not...
Re: Rankings
I find keeping my logbook up to date very motivational, and comparing myself to others in the rankings even more so, but I have a query about how accurate the rankings can be. Thinking specifically about the bike erg, in order to rank any workout time and distance have to be entered, but NOT the le...

Re: Consistent Splits
I’ve been erging for years and have always found it tricky to get completely consistent splits. How do people manage to do multiple intervals (eg 10x500) with identical splits and stroke rate, with zero variation….what’s the secret?? It’s easy. Although an App can help if you can’t be bothe...

Re: Training without data
Hi, I am just wondering who of you is training without a HR belt, without keeping track of HR.And if so, why? Thank you I do. Why? Because it’s a less than necessary, over-rated gimmick which is subject to too many variables, like sleep, stress, caffeine, weather and hydration to name a few. You ca...

Re: Changing DF during BikeErg race
Looks like someone didn’t read the rules! 5. There is no required damper setting. You are free to choose the setting you prefer and you may change the setting during the piece as long as it is done by the person using the machine. Learn more about damper settings! As for starting on a low drag, then...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Neither of those options work when I'm 15,500km from home on a cruise ship. So, my plan is to set-up the January row as a straight 2K, no restrictions simply row 2K and post a result. I knew you’d say that, as you’ve talked about doing that on one or two previous occasions where teams have been lat...
