row4life

I just clicked your profile, r4l, and i looked at all your posts. Only 1 (a duplicate post) is about anything remotely related to rowing. And it's about how you're too busy to row a lot anymore. Yet you seem to have a lot of spare time. Every single other post is about Dwayne, Chad Williams, and eve...

This is very dangerous stuff. If there are not enough entries at these international regattas the race will be dropped from the program in the future. I sense/feel a drift toward the elimination, at worst, or a drastic cut back, at best, of lightweight rowing. This would be best. in other comparebl...

10k A Day?

Our team's crew season is wrapping up quickly, saturday being our last race. I want to improve my fitness greatly over the summer and I heard that 10k a day is a great way to improve times even for lower distances. I wouldn't do a 10k every single day, but I do intend to erg 4-6 days a week and run ...

Hardest thing you've ever done?

I'm making this topic for everyone to share the most difficult workout they've ever done on the erg.

For me, its 8x2min r40 1 minute active rest.

Thanks you guys for all your help.

I think that tomorrow I'm going to start out fairly fast, maybe 1 split lower than I want. Then, I'll stay at pace until I sprint.

I'll post tomorrow after the test with my score!

You could probably even row for longer (60+ minutes) and it not affect your other training. Just rowing even at a lighter pressure for a long time will be beneficial.

Specific 2k Pacing (Per 500m)

I'm hoping to get low 7:30s or even break 7:30 in a 2k test on Wednesday, but I've never been good on planning out how to pace for something like this. I'm a small guy, so i don't know if that has to do with pacing at all. I'm trying to figure out whether my first 500 should be something fairly fast...

2k Help

I know this is a repetitive topic, but I'm a novice and have some questions. Age 15, male 5'4 120lbs My best 2k was 7:46 in February. My team has had hard practices 6 days a week since then, including about 18 practices over spring break. I have held 1:45, 1:45, and 1:48 for a 3x500 and 1:50 and 1:5...
