Unfortunately that's called backwards compatibility. The utility output hasn't changed since it was first introduced for PM3 with 32KB Logcards. The world has moved on a bit since 2003 but I don't want the standard utility output to change because that would break my old MySQL system built to proce...

.FIT files are, I believe, available for all to use. Certainly for Concept2, a member of the ANT Alliance (http://www.thisisant.com) it is. Update: This is also an issue on PM4 when using FR610 (I'd expect it's all compatible Garmins, but the 610 is the only one I have access to).
