Re: Forum Flyers

Thanks Lindsay and Jack much appreciated. I haven’t got it as severe as Jack by any means, I have no problems during the day or when rowing. It gets me at night after about 4/5 hours sleep when my hands go numb which wakes me up. I guess I’ll just play it by ear - there will obviously be a fine bala...

Re: Forum Flyers

I am just wondering whether any fellow FF’s have had experience of carpel tunnel surgery and more specifically, likely recovery time. A round of cortisone injections in both wrists provided some temporary relief a year ago but twenty years of rugby in the front row, is such that surgery is now recom...

Re: Forum Flyers

Average age of 63 too! And I thought I was getting old.

And yes, ARG, your guess is right, I too did the basic Mud Season Challenge.

Re: Forum Flyers

Many thanks. With a little help with a password reset from Citroen, I think I am now registered.

Re: Forum Flyers

I too have been participating in this near death experience otherwise known as the April Fool’s Challenge. But I have another question, can someone tell me please, how I sign up to the monthly CTC Challenge. Are all the virtual boats taken or is it done on a rolling basis? My fitness has slipped in ...

Re: 24 week Pete Plan

I did the whole Beginners Pete Plan and the mistake I made at the beginning was increasing the distance AND increasing the pace. The first six to eight weeks were a breeze - every week I could just squeeze out a few more tenths per 500m but then you hit a wall. The BPP says keep the same pace, so if...

Rowing with DVT

Apologies if this subject has appeared before but I have been diagnosed with a DVT and am concerned about future rowing. I am working for the moment in Bahrain and the doctors here don't seem to understand what rowing is all about! I have no idea what caused this problem, I do have (well controlled)...

Re: Proteus Machine

Thank both. I looked at what the Proteus was providing as a power output last night for another 20 min piece and it was only registering in the low 90s. Given that even at my worst on the C2 I was at c. 150 watts for 10k those figures do seem strange and Citroen is probably right that we are not com...

Proteus Machine

I have been a member of the C2 Forum for some years and an enthusiastic member of the Forum Flyers. However, I have just moved to a new job in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia which has involved me moving to a new house on an expat compound. The compound has a nice gym but unfortunately is equipped with a bra...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

@Rowan McSheen. Stu, good to see you back. I haven't posted here since the beginning of June but have been following in the background. A very busy period of work for me has ended so I am now considering coming back on either the PP or perhaps a few weeks of the BPP beforehand. I have been steadily ...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Mike - just wanted to echo the thoughts of Jack. I've valued your advice enormously on this thread and as Jack said you have acted as motivator, coach, conflict resolver, and friend as well as many other things. Best of luck in whatever training programme you move on to. I realised over the last cou...

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Don't know what has happened to me really, but unlike Stu (@Rowan McSheen) who is enjoying his erging, I seem to have completely fallen out of love with it right now. Managed two days of the PP before I a was unexpectedly hit with two very long days at work, then a whole bunch of family stuff. Resul...

PP W1 D2 SS 8000 / 35:48.9 / 2:14.3 / 25spm Yesterday first SS day for me. Tale of Two Gyms. Divide my rowing between home and office gyms both part of the same leisure group. The 'office' gym has had money spent on it and is cool and comfortable and was where I did the 8x500 on D1. By contrast 'hom...

PP W1 D1 (8 x 500 r 3:30) 14:59.4 / 4000 / 1:52.4 1. 1:54.5 2. 1:53.7 3. 1:53.4 4. 1:52.8 5. 1:52.2 6. 1:51.8 7. 1:51.1 8. 1:49.9 Just a bit of a marker really as I feel I have lost quite a bit over the last six to eight weeks after finishing the BPP then being sick and very busy. To compare on BPP ...
