Sit-ups on the model D

I finally bit the bullet and added sit-ups to my routine (I just never liked doing sit-ups!) Anyway, discovered the model D is an excellent platform: With heels on the floor, tuck your toes under the foot stretcher and go. (I row in socks, no straps but I'm sure it would work fine in shoes.) Now I d...

Yesterday:

* Rowed 18k meters
* then 15 mile bike ride
* then hiked brisk 4 miles

I know 15 miles is a wimpy bike ride but hey, it was only 40 degrees outside.

Excellent suggestion, michaelb! (drink 0 calories) I've known for a long time that bottled water is the healthier & cal-free alternative to pop. My problem is, I just don't like drinking bottled water (Ok, I'm probably a "health drop-out" for that one!) I also don't like diet pop or most of the flav...

That's great, congrats Jack! Mine arrived 2 weeks ago today - best purchase I've made in a long time. FWIW, since you've already been working out, avoid the temptation to go too hard at the start. Give yourself a couple days of "easy & short" to discover what new muscles are involved. Also, don't ov...

Long shot, but try wearing different shorts. I get the same thing if I row in sweat pants (thick, rolled seam at back.) I switched to nylon exercise shorts w/a flat seam in the back and no more problems. I've also used bicycle shorts (they have a chamois pad built into the seat.) The longest I've ro...

Wow, thanks Citroen! That's an inspiring thread and I never would have seen it. I'm only a week into the ERG but am doing 10k a night and really enjoying it. The UK thread has me actually considering the HM & FM as a goal. Thanks for posting that link!

Congrats on ordering a C2! It's an awsome machine (got mine a week ago.) As far as your time - :shock: ! Check out the on-line stats from the C2 site. If I'm reading the US stats correctly, that would put you at about #36 out of over 500 listed rankings. . . .and no, I won't share my 2000m time (lol...

Awsome, way to go Boxing Diva! Congrats on placing the order. I was there a week ago - My new C2 came last thursday - fantastic investment. (I can relate, turned 50 last year, etc, etc.) The C2 is a great workout and having access at home is so convenient. Won't be long now, go, go Rowing Diva! -Skip

If you only have a few entries on the pm3 to delete, this works: Put a log card in & select "logcard utilities" then "move workout." That option moves the workout from the pm3 memory to the logcard. Next, select "logcard utilities" then "delete workout." You can delete the workout(s) you just moved....

Hi Jack! Total newb here but I just went through the same 2 questions: "Should I get an ERG?" and: "D or E?" Here's how it went for me, YMMV: On the first question, climb on several C2's (and a couple other brands) to see how a high-end rower feels to you. If you go to the C2 site, under "Service" c...

Thanks guys! I appreciate the input. Glad to hear the batteries last that long in the pm3. Helps narrow the choices as I don't really plan on using the additional pm4 features. If I go with a new D I think I'll stick w/pm3. I got another suggestion tonight to consider jumping into a used C for a cou...

The dreaded C vs D question

Close to buying my first rower. Initially looked at Tunturi, LifeCore, & Bodycraft but all roads lead to C2! I'm leaning toward a new D/pm3 but have 2 questions. I was able to try a model C locally and couldn't believe how rock solid & stable it was! Is the model D as stout? I like what I've read ab...
