I was just wondering if anyone had tried other rowers and what they thought of them. While looking for a second-hand C2 to buy I used our neighbour' s Kettler Coach (2003 model I think). Did about 10 sessions on it, but it never won me over... Hard to explain why, it just didn' t feel right. Foodre...

Re: Talking with Body Builder
How do you get 'in the zone' to row? I like rowing and after a long day sitting in the office mostly look forward to it. But there are days I' m not that keen on getting on the erg. One 'mental trick' that works fine for me is to settle on a compromise by saying 'ok, I' ll take it easy today, no ha...

What sort of gloves did you use? Haven' t tried it yet, but padded cycling gloves should offer good protection. As to the firm grip - I tend to do this, too. What helped me is a tipp from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET6IF4pqxBo by Xeno. He advises to spread your fingers / seperate you...

Mini trampoline (rebounder)
Anyone else here who likes rebounding?
I wouldn' t do without my mini trampoline.
Use it for warm up, cool down and relexation, integrate it in my training with toning tube / flex band as well as streching exercises - and it seldom fails to lift my spirits

Thanks again for your help. So here is the first result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0m4zA58thqc Far from perfect, but hopefully a step in the right direction. I mostly concentrated on the motion sequence legs-body-arms-arms-body-legs. Erged with damper setting down to 3, stroke rate 20 (plus/min...

Thank you James. So I will change to a lower damper setting and for the time beeing lay my focus on better technique. Yesterday I took a video of my erging - should have done that earlier. It revealed a lot of room for improvement... :? Some things I noticed: - grip on the handle is too firm and arm...

Once again... beginner's questions on leg drive / technique
Hello. I think I do have the (typical beginner's?) problem of not putting enough power into the leg drive. I already found some helpful suggestion for exercises to enhance the leg drive and will implement them in my next training sessions. But there is one thing that puzzles me. When erging yesterda...

Thanks to both of you for the helpful links. I definitely have to work on my rowing technique. Especially getting more force on the leg drive, I 'm still pulling too much with the arms. If you have the power of pulling 2.10 for 5 k it is not possible not to be able to row sub 2.00 right :) But the 2...

How much progress is realistic / How to set ‘good goals’?
Hi there, I’ m new to rowing, just started in March 09. I rowed about 3 times a week, alternating 5k and 10k sessions. I did and do other sports, too – cycling, swimming, paddling, climbing, nordic skiing. But to be honest, so far it was kind of ‘a bit of everything, but nothing serious’, meaning I ...

Heart rate monitor for PM2
Is the coded Polar WearLink+ transmitter (http://www.polar.fi/en/products/accesso ... ransmitter) compatible
with the PM2 heart rate interface, or does it only work with uncoded transmitters?
Which HRM do you use with your PM2?

Decision made: I went for the Beyerdynamic DTX50 canalphones. The standard version comes with three different silicone earfittings, and as the smallest size fits passably I haven't ordered custom molded fittings yet. But this option is still open if I'm willing to pay the extra charge. We'll see. Fo...
