Re: PM5 - cable needed?
I don't understand how to connect my iPhone to the PM5 via Bluetooth. I installed ergdata on my iPhone, and got a message about pressing Menu/More Options/Turn Wireless On (on PM5). I can't find anything about wireless or bluetooth on the PM5. I also tried to sync my phone to the PM5 bluetooth, and...

Re: Finger Blisers??
I went with children's cotton socks, per a suggestion elsewhere on the forum. Work a treat!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Chip, chip, chipping away - 20:59.8, 14.3 seconds off the previous time and much more in line with what I thought I'd manage. You'll notice that I was able to hold a little more consistently throughout the piece this time round, which I think has a lot to do with the Nike headbands I bought to keep ...

Re: Flipped my erg now PM5 doesn't register flywheel motion
Well I fitted the PM5 myself, but the cable was still routed the way (I assume) it was originally for the PM2, which in this instance was underneath and around the bolt hole for attaching the PM bracket to the chain guide. I folded the PM5 back on it's bracket so it was sitting beside the flywheel b...

Re: Flipped my erg now PM5 doesn't register flywheel motion
Figured it out - cable broke internally. Cut the center part out, joined the two end bits together, and was able to get a good resistance measurement.
Going to try and repair with a section of old audio cable for now, and have ordered a new sensor from C2.

Flipped my erg now PM5 doesn't register flywheel motion
Flipped my erg over to adjust the shock cords, being super careful of the mounted PM5. Flipped it back over and now the PM5 doesn't appear to be getting anything from the flywheel sensor. So let's assume that, coincidentally and annoyingly, the sensor went bad...how can I check for that? I already h...
Fell off!
Strapless and only 17spm. Going great until about 15 stokes in...somehow the seat got out from underneath me and I fell off the starboard side. Seat went forward and jammed up on the plastic peice at the forward end of the rail. Nothing hurt but my pride. Fortunately nobody there to point and laugh....

Re: Meters on a logcard
The card readers are really cheap. This is the one we use for our secure computer ID cards at work:

Re: PM5 - cable needed?
Hello, I understand I can either use a USB key to log the workouts, or connect an android smartphone and use ErgData. From what I understand the PM5 should allow a smartphone with ErgData to connect wirelessly using bluetooth, so I thought I'd just buy the cradle - but I am a bit confused by the te...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Only a PB on account of it being the only 5k I've done thus far. 21:14.1 is not bad, IMO, considering how lousy I feel right now (getting a cold or something). I was shooting for 20:50, with ~2:05 splits throughout, and guesstimating beforehand that it would likely be somewhere between that and 21:40.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Anyhow...today wasn't bad at all. Firmly capped at s24 I was getting splits in the region of 2:10.0 for the duration, and while it felt like I'd worked out it it didn't feel like I'd need to roll off the erg into a fetal position. Have now cut the splits for the 20’ worth of Just Row I’ve been doin...

Re: Why did you start using a rower--specifically, the C2?
As I said in another post, specifically the C2 because it's what you need to use so you can "compete" against others. If it wasn't for that, I might well have chosen the Sole SR500 since I have a Sole F80 treadmill and have been really, really happy with it. As to jumping out of perfectly fine aerop...

Pasta and/or adequate rest = horrible performance?
Anyone else notice that when they've had pasta and/or a good night's rest the next day's workout is particularly difficult? I've noticed this a few times now, most recently after spaghetti for dinner on Monday and a decent night's sleep- my workout Tuesday was pretty grueling and I ended up bailing ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Decided to change things up just a bit starting from today. It's becoming clear that even while everything else is starting to come together I am borderline lacking the stamina needed for 2k tests, so what I'm going to do is try to train up to around 20-25 minutes at ~80% of all-out effort in the ex...
