Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

It has been 6 months, but I finally was able to post my first meters for the season. Our Y closed down March 14, and just opened again last Wednesday. There are only 2 ergs there, and one is now taped up to maintain distance. I'm not a good waiter. I got in line with Concept 2 on July 27 to order on...

It's been a while

Looks like 9 years since my last post - guess I didn't have much to say! Our Y closed Monday, so I'm out for MSMadness and World Erg Challenge. Getting ready for tri's this summer, so more time for biking and running. I'm not going to try outdoor swimming for a while yet. Good luck to the Lunies sti...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

In response to what to listen to while erging - I like to have at least a few songs that keep me thinking about technique and stroke rate. There are a couple of ZZ Top songs that are good for 24 spm - TV Dinners and I Need You Tonight. Moby's Extreme Ways is good for about 25, as is Robin Trower's B...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

I hope I'm getting my drink order in before it's too late! I'm going to keep it simple. Set me up with a Coors Original draft. This summer, we visited K2's stomping grounds, and I took the opportunity to tour the Coors plant in Golden. While we were there, we sampled most of their products, but the ...

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

I confess, I haven't been keeping up with our progress for the last couple of weeks. My grandson has been visiting more often as his parents finish up their college classes, and my school work gets pushed later into the evening. All I have been able to do is get to the Y to do my workout and post it...

Happy New Year, shipmates! It was a near thing to get my two Blue Moon sessions in on the 31st - the Y where I row closed at 1:00 PM, and the place was packed all day. There are only two Concept 2's there and I ended up finishing the second session with only a few minutes to spare before they would ...

Newest millionaire

I owe it all to the LUNA-TICS! I wanted to make sure I made the distance before posting this. I went back and looked at my previous seasons: 2005 season - 739,814 meters 2006 - 736,472 2007 - 685,905 2008 - 730,614 This year, from May 2008 to March 14, 2009, I had only 549,936 meters - that extrapol...

I like something I have used during bike races: Clif Shot Blocks. They are similar to gummy bears, but bigger, in the shape of a cube a little less than 2 cm on a side. You don't have to chew them, just let them dissolve. Each one lasts 5-10 minutes that way, then have a drink of water. They come in...

Half marathons

I don't know how so many of you seem to be able to rip off halfs and fulls and red giants. I have to find a way to stay comfortable on the seat! I get to about 1:15 and I spend the next 20 minutes or so shifting around trying to stay even a little bit comfortable. Fortunately(unfortunately?), I don'...
