Re: Brand new SkiErg..clunk noise on double/single poling
Great Video Keef, very helpful again and sorry for my late response. Today i dismantled the frontside of the flywheelcover and there it is. I have only a loose frontside bearing and not so extrem like on yours, but it’s loose. Backside bearing is tight. Turn volume up to hear the clunk-sound: https:...

Re: Brand new SkiErg..clunk noise on double/single poling
https://youtu.be/K3NX3v7KjiY The rear bearing is not moving in it’s cup, i think the „clunk“ on my machine comes from the spools moving back and forward on the axis. In the video my woman is pulling with ~100W. When the right sidecover is dismantled the „clunk“ is less or even not noticeable but wit...

Re: Brand new SkiErg..clunk noise on double/single poling
First off: You are very fit Sir with pulling that numbers at 65yo/78kg! Thank you very much for the investigation work and reporting it here, great help. I‘m a bit scared to disassemble a brandnew machine and also i find it a bit disappointing. i have to think about whether or not i disassemble or g...

Re: Steady state programming
Hello! Based on the rule of thumb 2k+25sec your split should be ~2:12 and if your HRmax is 200, 80% of that would be 160 as an upper limit. Easiest, but not accurate, formula to calculate HRmax gives you 181 max. So my guess is you are not doing steady state. I’m far away from being an expert so I’m...

Re: Brand new SkiErg..clunk noise on double/single poling
Hello johnlvs2run, Thank you for your reply. It’s not the swivel pulleys, it‘s the double knocking sound you describe. In the video i posted, at the beginning, you can hear the two knocks very close together. That is because i just pulled the handles a few centimeters at first. I also thought it mus...

Re: Brand new SkiErg..clunk noise on double/single poling
I maybe have the same issue, also on a brandnew SkiErg. 100k onto it so far, have never used one before so i don’t know if this is normal or not. Now I guess it’s not.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
R18 is very common and done by many good athletes. As long as you dont go superslow, like <R16, there Is nothing wrong i think. I would like to hear others opinion on that topic.

Re: ErgData Logbook sync error
Hopefully they'll get it resolved. If not, I guess I'll just be satisfied with the the info in the ErgData app and the PM5. It's very annoying! I like to see the SPM, HR, and Split-graph and of course i don't want to enter Meters manually to the Logbook. And i can't find the folder in the App where...

I use an old Samsung S3 with Android 4.4.4, which i use only for ErgData. ErgData Version is 1.89. I have no clue about Apps and IT. Ca...

Re: [In]decent Intervals
So the 1.25x multiplier Painsled uses according to this thread (https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=184763) is pretty much right on spot. The app has a bunch of great features, including a "Wattage" conversion that applies a multiplier (something in the neighbourhood of 1.25x) to your rowing...

Re: Confused about training strategies
I‘m no expert by any means and pull poor splits myself but i‘d suggest you don‘t care about HR for „steadystate“ early in the game. Build a proper stroke at low rates which you can rely on even if it gives you out of the „zone“ readings. That 2:30 for 5k must have been very restricted techniquewise ...
Re: Form
I’m only 5-8” and ergdata says my drive length is 1.48 usually. This is quite a long stroke for your size. I always wonder what it ideally should be on steadystate rows. ED shows me usually 1.33 to 1.36 for 187cm (~6-1). I can force it to be 1.45ish but this don't feel natural. Is my strokelength t...
