Re: How many of you erg late at night?
I work 12 hour shifts and so sometimes rowing between 20:00 and 22:00 is the only way I can fit in a session. I try not to do it too often though, and stick to steady state sessions. So long as I get my metres in the Concept2 log book before I go to bed, it doesn't normally affect my sleep.

Re: Rowing to lose weight
Paulo: Congratulations on your weight loss. In 8 months you have lost about 7 pounds Preambe. I'm from Italy. English in *not* my native tongue. 7 pounds? Not so. From 2014 december to 2015 december I lost average 1Kg (2.2 pounds) a month. Eventually I became so fit that to lose weight is not easy ...

Re: Rowing to lose weight
At the moment I'm warming up at UT3 pace and doing the main part of my row at UT2. UT3 is burning around 8 calories/minute and UT2 around 11 calories/minute. I've added a spell on the cross-trainer into my training too. I can burn 11-12 calories/minute on the cross-trainer with it on a pretty low se...

Re: Rowing to lose weight
but it's pointless if you don't measure the other side of the equation, i.e. what you eat, or at least cut out the crappy food. I just haven't been very good at putting it into action to date. It's tough for sure!!! Very easy to say "yeah i'm just gonna completely cut out the junk just like that" L...

Re: Rowing to lose weight
One other thing that may help you is to take 'before' measurements, waist, chest, arms, legs etc. Even blood pressure, resting heart rate etc. Then as you train and loose weight you can recheck them every few weeks and see the gains you are making not just on the scale. I wish I had done this mysel...

Re: Rowing to lose weight
Thanks for the replies and advice guys. My body fat came in at 36.1% on Monday morning. I realised a long time ago that it's all very well counting how many calories you burn off in the gym, but it's pointless if you don't measure the other side of the equation, i.e. what you eat, or at least cut ou...

Rowing to lose weight
Here I am, a 51 and a half year old, 166cm tall man, weighing 101.4 kg as of this morning. That makes my BMI 36.8! For literally years now, I've been telling myself that I need to lose weight, that I "must do something about it". Hearing about several people around my age developing serious health p...

Re: Ski Ergs in Leeds
Apologies for the delay in replying. Pure Gym has Skiergs, but David Lloyd apparently doesn't.

Ski Ergs in Leeds
Does anyone know of anywhere in Leeds (West Yorkshire) or the surrounding area, that has Ski Ergs?
I've looked at the websites of every gym I can think of in the area without success.
