Re: New WR 55-59 LWT 6:29

Thanks guys. Hopefully this record will stick for a while (at least past the WIRC this weekend!). I'm still waiting to hear from C2 making it official.

Re: Center City Slam

Thanks Jack! Unfortunately Mike was racing the same time I was on a different bank of ergs, so I didn't get to watch. Would love to get his perspective, just don't think he's as verbose as I am! He just rows fast.....real fast! Yes Ed, you are a little more verbose than I am  Not too much to s...

Re: Center City Slam

Great job Ed! Trust your training, trust your race plan! Sounds like you did it right. If you’ve done the work ahead of time and know what you’re capable of, you won’t fly and die like your competition did. Good seeing you today. Glad you were happy with your piece. See you on the river this summer!...

Good job Ed! Always nice when a race goes according to plan. I'll seen you there at Center City on Saturday. You know what my goal is

Re: Stroke Rate or Heart Rate, Can’t Seem To Have Both

Follow the HR recommendation. That's the important one. Going at 23-27 but low power is just going to screw up your stroke ratio.

Re: Kings Head Regatta

Hey Ed. Good seeing you on Sunday. Nice write up and great row. You're making some seriously good progress in your first year on the water. I love head race season and that race is a good place to kick it off. It's not too technical (except for the 2 bridges in the last 500m!) and a good stretch of ...

Re: UT2/Polarization (trying to move this from PB thread)

Kind comments Mike, thank you. Glenn, definitely don't give up. Despite what you might hear on this board or elsewhere, this really isn't rocket science. Sometimes I think folks here are getting caught up in minute details which, at the level most guys are at here aren't really all that important. Y...

Brrr bring the right clothes, weather will be pretty horrible.
Yeah, I know. At least right now the forecast for the 12th and 13th is pretty good but that could change quickly.

Where are you located?

Re: CRASH-Bs 2016 (At Least Some Of It)

Great race report Rick! I can't come close to matching that kind of prose! Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone on Sunday but it turned into a pretty busy day. Well, since my name is getting thrown around here I guess I'd better get my 2 cents in :D As some suspected, the goal was to hit the 6:25 mar...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Staying the course: There's always a lot of banter on the forum's about long and easy vs. short and hard. I think sometimes the point is missed. When the average recreational athlete's training is actually monitored; the norm seems to be going too hard on the "easy" days which detracts from the abi...

World Rowing Indoor Sprints

Here's the chance for all you big guys who aren't into the 2K racing (and the LWTs too  ) to get a piece of the competitive action. It's a 1K virtual race with medals and everything. You just need to pull your best 1000m piece between March 11 and 13th and post your time. http://www.worldrowing...

World Rowing sprints training

New post on the World Rowing website on training for their 1K World Rowing Indoor Sprints in 5 weeks. Pretty much a typical week. For a 2K, you could just bump up the volume a little and change workout #5 to 500, 2X1000, 500.
