Re: rowing shoes for indoor machines?
I have never rowed both on and off the water in anything but socks for the last 55 years. I wash them every million metres whether they need it or not.

Re: Realistic improvement in older athletes?
Interesting that Ranger and Cyclingman both have a best time of 6.42 for 2k, has any one seen them in the same room? Their IP addresses give the game away. Cyclingman1 is geo-located in Atlanta. Ranger is still using UMICH as an ISP. Why are you still responding to Ranger bait? I thought you...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Fact remains you couldn't, wouldn't, didn't break Roy's record, a record you repeatedly belittled as soft. Facts are not "belittling." That Roy's WR is soft has nothing to do with me, especially now. It has to do with Paul Siebach. If he chooses to, Paul will row much better than 6:38 when he is 55...

Re: Ranger's training thread
nd your weight and age at the time you pulled 6:29.7 was? Weight is irrelevant for me, as it is for Roy. We both have a _very_ hard time making weight, but if we work at it, we row the same, regardless of weight. On the erg, fat doesn't make you row faster or slower. It just hangs there. Roy did hi...

Re: Ranger's training thread
What happened to the oft stated goal of smashing Rocket Roy's soft world record? It may indeed be soft but it proved too hard for you. If I pull a lwt 6:16 2K at 60, I won't care that someone five years younger pulled a 2K 22 seconds slower. If I pull a lwt 6:16 at 60, I won't care that someone fiv...

Re: Ranger's training thread
you hold no WRs True. The _starting point_ of my present training was my three WR rows in 2003: 6:30, 6:29, 6:28. Since then, I have been training. My goal is a lwt 6:16 at 60. ranger What happened to the oft stated goal of smashing Rocket Roy's soft world record? It may indeed be soft but it prove...

now post some pictures of some of these amazing training sessions Coming right up. In the meantime, though, I think that Kev should give the 500r30 a try and see how he does, don't you? His sarcastic tone about SPI, etc., would seem to require that response, don't you think? I suspect that Kev can'...

Why would a so called moderator continue to make posts like this? Is he reserving all the fun for himself? Does he not understand that this is an internet forum? Re: Ranger's training thread
Then again, I don't yet have any evidence that I am right and you are wrong. We'll certainly have a good test of this as I go forward in the sport, though. It will be interesting how the facts of the case turn out. This is the clear reason why we shouldn't feed the troll. He's not had any evidence ...
