Re: Hello! SkiErg, Row, WattBike

If you want more cardio varieity that will hit your inner/outter thighs (plus knees and ankles) get a slideboard a.k.a horizontal motion trainer. I use it for 10 or 15 minutes as a warm up for weight lifting. I have some other posts here about it.

Re: What Drag Factor is everyone using?

Putting the Dynamic Rower p/n 1087 Wind Shield on top of your SkiErg flywheel screen is not a bad idea for protecting the metal from sweat that can fly off your head into it. That would also lower the DF. https://www2.concept2.com/VIA/viaImagePageIndex.jsp?row=13&pgName=viaListProducts.jsp&searchTex...

Re: Hitting a heartrate plateau...

OK, I'm open to trying that, Greg. Thanks! When you rest, is it a full stop, or just a slowdown? And do you ramp up to the AT level, or do you include ramp-up to that heartrate as part of your 3 minutes? I ask because it take a little while for me to get up to that level. You can stop, but it proba...

New "connected" Bubble Wrap makes nice seatpad

There's a new Bubble Wrap that does not have individual bubbles, each bubble is connected to the next one so it is much harder (or impossible) to pop. I have not been able to find the product or exact name. Currious if anyone knows the official name? It's come to me in some shipments. It makes a gre...

Re: How to start

So I'm thinking of ordering the HRM from C2 to get the full benefit of this machine. So what I'm wondering is how best to start? C2 says five minutes to start then slowly increase ( on their site,) but the Rowpro workout starts off I think with a light 2000m. Does it really matter? The C2 getting s...

Re: Weight Loss

!!! Why on earth get salted peanut butter when unsalted is available? Easy Bob, I didn't want to venture into every topic. I agree low/no salt PB is a better choice. Trader Joe's tends to have lower sodium products and that's where I get my PB. I've read a better choice may be Almond butter. Costs ...

Re: Weight Loss

Sadly exercise works best for maintaining your weight, not as well for losing. Time mag "Why Exercise Won't Make You Thin" http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1914974,00.html No amount of exercise can make up for what you eat. While you want to lose weight your ultimate goal should be a...

Re: Pollution affect on rowing performance

What I recall from Physics class is that the number of molecules in any gas is constant at a given temperature and pressure. Humidity (H2O) displaces other molecules in the air so there is less O2 to breath. Pollution would also displace O2. When Pollution goes up it also seems to change some O2 to ...

Re: Ideas to secure Concept2 to the floor

Put some C2 slides under it and your problem is solved. If one's technique is moving the erg on the floor I would think on slides there is a good chance they would be banging the slides into the end stops. I agree they would be best for a varsity rower. As for the USB connection to a moving erg ......

Does anyone know if power, stroke rate and heart rate data streams from concept 2 PM4 running beta to an iPhone/iPad with the ant+ dongle? Re: Variety on the SkiErg

You could get a slideboard and alternate that with the SkiErg. It should help your skating, Inner/Outer thighs, ankels. I got a Goaler One and the quality is good. There are websites with DIY ones. Mixing in some kettlebell swings could also be good. As far as benefits of balance devices I would sa...
