Re: tennis elbow from rowing
I had elbow pain for years, tried higher rate lower DF, didnt really work.
What really fixed it was to do forearm curls (front and reverse) religiously 4 days a week. In my case, strengthening the forearm was all it took.

congratulations!!mrpeepers wrote:Just wanted to report in. A few weeks ago I took another 2K and cracked 7:00, so thanks to all who gave me suggestions. I especially liked the 34-spm 500m intervals. Those really did the trick, I think. Thanks again.

Re: 2K progress
If i where you i would do three 10k's a week, while keeping your heart rate under 165. Supplement that with 5x500 with 2 min rest and 10x250 with 1 min rest. Finish that off with two lifting sessions. A good training split would look like Monday- 10k Tuesday- lifting and 10x250 Wednesday- off Thurs...

Re: Questions from the new guy - your story wanted!
A used Model C/D/E will last forever, But not as long as the rock-solid model B which you left out. Bob S. I loved my old B, nothing matches the sound that open flywheel made and the tractor seat was awesome! But.. no PM3... No rowpro... [added later] I bought my B for $255, put a couple million me...

Re: Questions from the new guy - your story wanted!
Easy part of the question first: C2's are basically bullet proof and retain their value to an astonishing degree . When I first tried buying one off of Craigslist, I literally called 7-8 different sellers only to find out that someone had bought it sight unseen within an hour of the posting. A used ...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Here's the thing Rich, why do you keep comparing peoples actual results, with your targets? That's not valid, right? That depends on their targets. I asked you why you keep comparing your targets , with their results ? You can compare your targets with their targets, or your results with their resu...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Rocket Roy just rowed 30min, 1:52 @ 26 spm (9.7 SPI). That has nothing to do with rowing well. Roy is just working on his fitness. Problem is: If you row badly when you work on your fitness, you just train yourself to be bad. Not a very good result. ranger Actually, that is an outstanding result. U...

Re: New to rowing
Checked the online rankings and I understand I could be what is referred to as "slow as molasses". haha, I'm well below 25% percentile, awesome. :D Good effort for the first time out fella, you'll find you rapdily improve over the first couple month's of consistent training. great advice from greg...

what is your max? must be around 210 to be able to sustain 190 for 30 minutes.

Re: Pete Plan Stories/Recommendations?
It's a tough plan to be sure but one never gets better by taking it easy :-) It can be adjusted to suit different needs/goals, and I know folks also lift when doing it. You should post to UK forum, lots of folks over there use it, and you'll most likely get response from Pete as well (he rarely post...
