How about rowing on the water? A little tougher, logistics-wise, than hopping on a bike or strapping on skates, but being out on the water the rowing "high" is even better! If possible, find a boathouse and check it out, you won't regret it! Hi Cyclist2, thanks for your input. Yes, I'm sure being o...

Exercise ideas to match the rowing 'high'

I use the erg at my local Y during the long winter months when I'm not as inclined to exercise outside. Now that the warmer weather is here I'll be cancelling my membership and wont have access to an erg  I find I really miss the overall body fitness and that awesome rowing 'high'. Any suggesti...

Hi John,
It appears that there is only a listing for those who have rowed a min. of 5000m and no separate listing for 10000m. I'm sure if you send an email to ranking@concept2.com they'll be able to help you.

WOW, 28 million meters......Congratulations !!!

Stupid Question?_ March Madness

Hi,
I've entered my meters for March 1, 09 in my online logbook but my results aren't showing up on the 'Progress Board'. What am I missing?
thanks

Shockcord too tight??

Forgive my limited technical knowledge. Is it possible for the shockcord to be too tight and if so can anyone quantify/describe how tight it should be?
thanks!

Salut encore, Sorry, I don't have any helpful advice re: buying a C2. I've been using the erg for around 10 yrs now and for awhile had my own at home but after a few too many moves we had to part ways! I'm out on the west island myself and I workout at the local Y. I use a ModelC which has been retr...

Salut slipstream! Great to hear from a fellow Montreal rower! Rowing is a great addition to any fitness plan to develop your cardiovascular system and your muscle strength and toning. You'll find alot of helpful info on the C2 website and in this forum........I think you're wise to start off a littl...

Hi Emily, Thanks for your message. I'm glad to hear you haven't had the same problem! I feel I've heard somewhere that if the abs aren't engaged 'properly' during crunches etc. that rather than becoming flatter they can actually bulge out more. I'm going to focus on keeping my lower abs tight and ho...

Hi again Pat, I totally agree with you on the benefits of the rower- definitely the best bang for your buck! I've never seen the 'donkey' machine but it sounds interesting.......instead I'll give those squats and lunges a try! During my workout yesterday I concentrated on keeping my lower abs contra...

Hi Pat, I appreciate your input. Yes, I do suspect the ab bulge is due to bad form. One of the biggest attractions of the erg for me is that is works your whole body. I usually row 4-5 times per week for 30 to 45 mins at a time. I really appreciate the upper body toning and my ‘six-pack’ muscles are...

Toned butt & abs?

Hello all, I use the erg during the winter months to keep me fit for hiking, cycling and inline skating in the warmer months. I've noticed that my butt doesn't seem as toned and that I seem to be developing a bit of a 'bulge' in my lower abdomen (similar to what I see with weightlifters). Am wonderi...
