Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
Tried something different today. Was feeling pretty good (did a true recovery yesterday) and hadn't done a 10K meter row in a while (since I started PP). I used to do them every Friday but hadn't in a while because this is actually the first time (since starting PP in the Fall) that I've ever rowed...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
Fish, If Greg Smith were to look in, I think he would compliment both your commitment to executing the plan and your excellent result. Initial pace by the book and maintained or bettered thru two reps. Hammer down on the final for a significant improvement on the average for three and a tough targe...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
Good luck on the healing process those of you overcoming injury and illness, seems like everyone is well on their way to full recovery. I've been somewhat irregular about posting my workouts and am going to try and do a better job of posting them daily to help motivate me. Sunday: W10D1 PP beginner ...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
So after a two plus week hiatus from the erg because I had no access to my gym because of travel and the gym being closed over the holidays for "cleaning" I finally got back to it this week. A large part of my goals for the coming year is more steady state work to build a stronger base and so this w...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
pete plan beginner W7D1 8K Did cardio non-erg workouts the last couple days so felt like I could push this a little today and not worry so much about keeping my HR in the UT2 zone. Went 2:23.7 @ 22 SPM Reasonably pleased with the effort. Next row is 7 X 500 and I'm looking to seeing if I've gotten f...

W6D3 Pete Beginner :
7.5K @ 22 SPM 2:28.2/500
Felt better as I went along. I think I need to be doing more warmup in my routines to get the blood flowing better.

W6D2 Pete Beginner (3 X 2K, 4' rest)
My goal was 2:28 pace but ended up going considerably faster than that:
2:26.6 @ 21SPM
2:24.5 @ 22SPM
2:18.8 @ 25 SPM
Felt much better after this workout than the 2K TT from yesterday, it's more fun to best your goal than fall short.

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
Very nice work Jack on the 15000m and to all that did the 750m / 1 mr - that looks very tough indeed. PP W1 / D3 (second time around) - 5X1500m. I think, for me, this is the toughest one. Last time around, did 1:56.3 so used that as my goal. 1:56.1 / 27 1:56.2 / 27 1:56.3 / 28 1:57.9 / 27 (battled ...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
2K time trial today with a goal of 2:08.5. Failed at my goal but, took 4.1 seconds off my PB from ~6 weeks ago so there's progress (though not nearly as much as I'd like). Went 2:09.4/500. Was @ 2:08 through the first 1400m and then fell off the horse. I think in addition to all the stroke/strength ...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
Fish, you could back up to the 6k workout at start of week 3. If you recall that continuous piece being challenging but manageable in terms of perceived exertion, try 6k pace-2". I'm curious what leads you to believe that you've been using the "wrong" pacing? General guidelines, random suggestions,...

Re: Pete Plan Autumn 2015
After a 10 day hiatus for travel/work related issues, back at it today. W6D1 long and steady 7.5K erg @ 15 SPM @ 2:30.8 I'm up to 6.8W/stroke, which isn't much compared to you beasts but is pretty significant improvement from my start (and 7.5K is my longest row ever!). I'm doing a 2K time trial nex...
