Re: Basic training questions
Today's training. Unstrapped. df=110 training targets: 24r 170.4W (SPI=7.1); work on knee flexion angle max of 90º I'm still in pre-training trying to get the correct motion and the idea was to lower the stroke power index to around 7 W-min which is what I used in my old form so the knee wouldn't be...

Re: Knees: Splayed out or together during recovery & catch?
My knees naturally splay out during recover and catch, so that my arms are straight between them. In the technique videos, the handle and hands go over the knees, the knees stay together, and the arms are outside the knees. I see that as more "efficient." But my knees splaying out just comes natura...

Re: CO2 blood levels
If so, is there a transition point in endurance exercise where we begin to produce less CO2 and our respiration becomes more efficient? At rest there is a lowering of CO2 produced:O2 consumed when eating a low carb diet (besides fat, protein also requires less CO2 to burn) and the source of what yo...

Re: Basic training questions
The seat pad is 30.7 cm wide (exactly as wide as the seat) by 18.6 cm. I read, I think on the C2 blog, that some folks put a towel on the seat. You just have to make sure it's small enough not to drape onto the slide and get caught in the seat roller. Thanks for the data Ken! Too bad there's barely...

Re: (Also) New to Rowing
Welcome, Muggins. Never fear, that blister will soon become a callus. Mine are rather defined at the base of all eight of my fingers. I discovered a great way to eliminate the callus build-up as well....NOT a knife. I liberated the below device from my wife's medicine chest. It works great and I've...

Re: Basic training questions
Henry, Hardy, Bob, thanks for sticking with me! Ken, no problem, I didn't realize it was the same video Hardy posted until it played and it was well worth being made to watch again (but...see comment below)! Any random further comments would be welcome. I'm trying to listen and do what you all recom...

Re: Basic training questions
James, Henry & Bob, Just in time for me to change things before I went rowing today. I'm really following all your tips to the best of my ability to what you all have to say. Wish I could read Dutch better than by machine translation, since Henry has a great website. I just saw his lightning record ...

Re: Basic training questions

Hardy and Edward you were both extremely helpful to put yourselves in my shoes and address in detail the exact thoughts going through my mind and that is giving me more confidence and understanding I needed, and exp...

Re: Basic training questions
About my rowing video for critical comment, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20rSoTo8fQA Here I go, not said anything, its not often 100% appreciated what I say. I feel really fortunate that Bob suggested I make a video which turned out I could do. I am especially pleased Henry, James, Lindsay and Ha...

Re: How to tell if C, D, or E? and other basic question
OK, I'm really hoping to get comments on the technique I use, so instead of making more bad descriptions, I got today's row (October 19) on video and uploaded it on youtube (had my doubts but I think it worked), like was suggested earlier in the thread. It is the first time I'm seeing myself row so ...
