Thats what did it, I had to replace the black Polar receiver box that goes under the rail. Not sure why it died, but after I replaced it with a new one the HR monitor came to life. I couldnt live without knowing my HR. Thanks for all the help. Rendog :D

Ok the new heart rate strap didnt work, so I ordered a replacement wire and reciever (the thing that goes under the rail). The tech guy at Concept 2 told me to reset the PM3 by taking out the batteries for 24 hours. I really need the HR monitor to work.

Heart rate monitor on PM3 stopped working

I just changed the batteries on my PM3 and the heart rate monitor won't work. :( I tried two different chest straps and I couldnt get a reading on the PM3 with either of them. Any ideas on why this would happen and what I can do to get it working again? Thanks, Rendog

i find this hard to believe

I was reading my email the other day and read this from concept 2 about the January virtual Challenge "Our top rower was 73-year-old, Kathryn Dunnmon, of the Ancient Mariners, with 1,500,000 meters"!!! One month 1,500,000 meters? it took me one year to row 1,000,000 meters, she rowed 1,500,000 meter...

My question is, on the model D, there is a list of custom workouts on the PM3, where can I get an explaination for each one of these workouts? Thanks

Your right, 35 strokes per minute is kind of high. My stroke rate today was 23 s/m, and my watts was 204. this gave me the sub 20:00 for the 5000 meters. ya gotta pull pretty hard and consistantly.

Hi, Im the guy who started the previous "Watts" post. Before I monitored watts, i did not realize how the power of each one of my strokes varied. I was pulling hard, trying to keep up a good 25 stroke per minute pace, and trying to stay as close to 2:00/500 meters for 5000 meters. I was having a har...

I live on Long Island, New York. i could easily take a video of myself and would have no problems sending it to the forum for a critique. I guess a 5 minute clip should do it. How do I go about sending the video? Thanks again, Chris

First Michael, thanks for your explaination, I think I have it now. That chart really helped too. Now reaching a 263 watt average for a 2000 meter row does seem to me kind of tough, but I'll try. I mean I had a hard time maintaining 235 watts for 500 meters, actually the best that I could do was 205...

Watts again

Listen guys I appreciate all the formulas but unfortunately I suck at math. So let me just tell you what I did today. I rowed 5000 meters in 20:32:9, with s/m of 25 and an average watt of 187. I try to keep my 500 meter split as close to 2:00 as I can. Today my 500M split was 2:03, so I have yet to ...

Watts

I've had my concept 2 model D rower for about 2 months now, my best time for a 2000 meter row is 7:51:5. Im male, 44 years old, 6'3 206 pounds. Im in what I believe to be good shape. I normally veiw the force curve while rowing trying to keep the curve in the correct form. I never view the watts. Im...
