Thanks for the encouraging/kind words everyone. Great story... rowing 10K a day will definitely use up the calories....not sure if you are throwing in intervals but if not I think they will help with your wt. loss. Especially if you mix them up. I haven't really done any interval training. Although ...

It took me 108 days to lose 41 lbs. In that time span I rowed 832,675 meters. Typically I row 10,000 meters five days a week. It took me two months to build up the stamina to row 50,000 meters each week. In that time frame I did not monitor my weight loss. Just wanted to post some numbers to give yo...

It’s a shame about the knee but at least all the work you have put in to date will allow for a quicker recovery/rehab.

I have typed this out a couple of different times. I’m sorry if this comes off as rude/critical but I just wanted to point out that it has been about 15 weeks since new years and with the meters you posted (344,000) that would mean you are doing about 22,000* meters a week. IMO you might want to thi...

It’s an extreme short term solution used by athletes attempting to cut water weight to reach a certain weight class. If you’re looking to lose weight (fat) for the long term I would advise against it.

I think it’s different for everyone so I’m a bit hesitant to offer advice. But this is what worked for me. I logged everything I ate for about two weeks and then figured out what I had to do to cut 500 calories each day from my diet. It took me awhile to work myself up to be able to consistently row...

After I get done lifting I take New Whey 42 from IDS . Just twist the cap and slam it. It's a bit pricey but to cut cost, you can take half of it or buy it in bulk. It comes in four flavors... Orange Grape Fruit Punch Blue Raspberry /edit: so I just re-read your post and realized that you were seeki...

I’m trying to do 10,000+ five days a week. In January I rowed 200,482 meters over 20 days. I averaged a loss of 2.5 lbs each week.

/sidenote: I also lift 4 days a week

If your pace is uneven you burn more calories then if it is constant. On my 600+ days my pace was very even. How are you measuring the calories? Are those the numbers from the PM2 monitor or are they from your HR monitor watch? I'm using the monitor that's on my Concept 2; it's one of the old schoo...

Calorie Anomaly

I have just recently started stationary rowing and I like to log the estimated calories burnt to chart along with my weight loss. This week I had a very unexpectedly high calorie estimate that was followed the next day by another 600+ calorie burn. I hand't thought to much of it but tonight when I g...
