Re: Rower moving
My strokes are long: I damn near reach the chain guard and pull back to just past the vertical -- like in the animation -- but I have long legs and arms. Indeed, my drag setting is high, very high, but if I lower it and do more strokes per minute the movement is worse. It's like I said, it's just th...

Re: Rower moving
I row on a tiled floor. My Model E moves backwards about 8-10mm a stroke when I am fresh, say for the first 2-3km and pulling 230+ watts (1:55 pace), and continues to move back for the whole 10km row. It's because, on the return, I yank a little on the straps a little rather than accelerating myself...

PM4 and Scosche Rhythm+ via ANT+
I recently purchased a Scosche Rhythm+ device (link) to use in place of a HRM belt on my Concept2 model E with PM4. The https://thisisant.com/directory lists both devices as being compatible with each other (for the purposes of heart rate monitoring) yet I cannot get my PM4 to see the Rhythm+; the P...

Re: carpal tunnel and rowing
It seems I have the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome when using the ergo. This manifests as a tingling in the middle fingers, index fingers and thumbs after about 15 minutes on the ergo. My grip is quite othodox and I am able to row for over a hour a day without any deterioration in my skin or CTS...

Re: Getting 'better'
And finally, with running, pace improvement is slow to come by. I am still working to get to a 10 min mile just to be somewhat 'average'. Is it the same with rowing? If I row just 2-3 times per week, how long before I can start to see some improvement?
Yes, it's exactly like...

Hmmm, the macho thing is a tough call. If that's the approach you need to take to get fit and live longer, then go for it; it's a personal thing. Personally, I prefer to exercise with my heart as opposed to my ego. I always try to exercise for 80+ minutes straight, and as a result, I pick exercises ...

All that stuff about rowing technique aside (not to say that it isn't important), I have a solution that gets as little (or as much) blistering as you desire. Go down to your local supermarket and buy a pair of small socks that have an leg section (above the heel) long enough to cover each handle on...

Odd metres up front on splits
Hi, Thanks for a great product. I was wondering if it would be possible to row the odd metres up front when rowing a distance that does not have the split distance divide equally into it. For example, I like to row 2000m splits, but when rowing a half marathon It becomes a brain drain working out wh...
