Re: Forum Flyers
Calling all lightweights! I am guessing that this months CTC isn't that appealing to you (me neither) - but we have 3 boats just waiting for a lightweight rower to get them off the dock. You still have a couple of weeks to give this one a try. Think bigger! Calling all not-very-heavy heavyweights! ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
A big part of improving times is establishing what you can endure and then delivering this for what seems an eternity. I personally favour a sequential approach to this: 1) get comfortable churning out long rows when fatigued at low pace so that 30 min becomes an encouraging time left ("only anothe...

Re: High Blood Pressure- More intense sessions?
It is probably worth adding some isometric exercise to your routine as well. A recent large study found that isometric exercise was the most effective exercise modality (for the people in the study, at least) at reducing blood pressure. https://www.mayoclinichealthsystem.org/hometown-health/speaking...

Re: Wondering what owners think now a couple weeks out.
My only complaint is there are no footsteps . Husband has mobility issues and not able to return the feet to starting position without aid of straps. One would think after spending $1700+, they wouldn't have to purchase straps on Amazon for $15. We have the entire product line - bike, ski & rower. ...

Re: Wanted Used PM3 Monitor
Ben, how important is it that the USB functionality works? I have a PM3 that I’ve been debating replacing with a PM5, but the USB connector broke loose (C2 did not design that part very well), so you can’t copy workout data off the logcard except by using another PM3. My inner cheapskate has not wan...

Re: Multi C2 Marathon- 1 day
(Have done row and bike marathon on separate occasions but never a ski before) What is the longest ski session you have done? I think the row and bike legs should not be a problem, taken at a reasonable (read: easy) pace with adequate drink and sustenance, but if you aren’t used to skiing for compa...

Re: Handle width - too narrow
Drilling precisely located holes in a flat object is much easier than doing the same into a pipe or other cylindrical object. I know plenty of people with a drill press, but only one with suitable hold-down gear. Seems like two lengths of suitably-sized pipe that just slipped over the handles might ...

There was some character that built something with a ton of hardware and insisted it was better than sliced sex, what was his name…oh, yeah, slidewinder!

Re: rotator cuff, rowing with different handle?
The Concept2 DYNO strength training machine (alas, nla) had a set of such handles that pivoted freely. Might be worth calling up C2 and seeing if there is someone in the engineering group that has some ideas, even if they can’t just sell you one. Unfortunately JonW has retired, but he’s still active...

Re: Issues with Slides & Model D
If you want the OEM slide rail plastic, it can be bought from Concept2 without needing to wonder if you have the right thing, though finding it on the website can be a bit tricky.

Re: Issues with Slides & Model D
As a worst case solution, if you are stuck ordering endless quantities of plastic strips each month, might be more economical to order a bulk quantity from McMasterCarr or Grainger. Is anyone able to help me out with a link to the plastic track needed for the slides. I tried searching on the websit...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.
Thanks for the replies. Yes, I guess the slogan "different folks different strokes" does apply. I will soon do a half marathon and that will tell me if this low stroke rate indeed does work for me also for longer duartions. What sort of a drag factor are you using? Get the number from the monitor, ...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.
Great info in this thread, and deepy impressed by the distances you guys are racing. I (a 60 yr old LW) have started training for a marathon. Five months back I did a PB on an hour-of-power (reached 15120 m), and based on that pace I am aiming for a sub 3hr (stretch target a 2:55 h:m) marathon. Now...

Re: Logbook Workout Graph Cuts off
Interesting, maybe there were enough complaints about the PM3 not recording short just row sessions that they got rid of that “feature”. Now we are back to not having a theory for why Carl’s Just row sessions don’t get recorded.
