Re: How can I improve my 2k in 2 years

Echoing what Henry says above here. Just aim at steady progression. Doing a 6:20 as a 15 year old is highly unlikely, unless you are the little brother of Isaiah Harrison, who did a 5:53 in the 15-16 age range. Even breaking 7 minutes at 15 would be very good. Heck, even breaking 8 would be good! L...

Re: 14 yr old holds all records for his age group

Nah, basketball has about the highest injury rate of any youth sport. Rowing's a lifetime-sport that's much easier on your body and you'll thank your younger self when you're 70+ and still able to get out on the water :)

Other suggestions?

waterproof smartphone holder

Can any of your recommend a <preferably affordable> holder for a larger smartphone (in my case the Note 3) so that I can run an app like BoatCoach and see my smartphone while I row? Of course it needs to be waterproof plus able to clip near my feet. Also would be nice if it didn't cause the phone to...

single shell recommendation for tall guy

I'm 6'8", 240 lb and none of the singles in our club seem to fit me well. What do you recommend I look for in a used, affordable, single that is still pretty competitive at races? Bang-for-the-buck... don't need the fastest boat since this is my first shell but don't want a slug either. And where ar...

newbie questions

First post here. Love the erg but am just learning to row on the water and have some immediate questions. Didn't realize this was mainly an erg forum though. Is there an online forum dedicated to competitive water rowing? Thanks guys.
