Re: Woo Hoo....just hit 1M meters for the 'season'.
I just hit the 1M meter mark for the season also. Definitely shooting for 2M or more next season... up until the end of January I wasn't putting in much time but I finally bought an ERG on 1/31 and have been steadily putting in more and more meters per week.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Back on the erg after a forced 2 weeks off (family obligations). I feel like I've gone backwards so much from the break. Hopefully it won't take too long to get back to where I was. 5K and lifting yesterday, 10K today. Times were much worse than I had gotten used to seeing but I guess that means I h...

Short run outside (beautiful day here). Was shooting for 2.5 miles in 20 minutes but I was 30 seconds over.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did more than the Pete Plan Beginner said to do.....instead of "just" a 5K I did two 5K's.

Ran 2.5 miles in 20 minutes and lifted weights for 30 minutes. No rowing for the day.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Galeere, we are roping him in slowly. He will figure out that he wants to beat us soon enough, and will then find a concept 2 to play on. Yes, I am getting there. For now I'm stuck with the equipment the gym uses but I have started looking into buying a concept 2 for home use. The hurdle at this po...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
From the thread I started last week.... Nice. Now get on over to the "what have you done for me lately" post and start putting your workouts in so that everyone can cheer you on and so they can council you on some of the nuances of the interval sessions and etc. Here I am G-dub. I'm on week 1 of the...

Re: Training how often?
Do the plan that is in the link I sent - the Pete Plan Beginner. If you recall before we got sidetracked that you like the look of that one. That would let you do the other training you do and still give you a dose of erg that will touch in the different energy systems..... Yes, already in progress...

Mark, you really do need a nap altho I give you credit for not getting TOOOOOO cranky. Lindsay, first over the line with the real skinny. I love watching True Pace Detective !! :P    :o  :!: :?:  Yep didn't ring true but seemed genuine - "the old water rower trick" a...

Re: Training how often?
bergerm6, as you can tell there is lots of passion on the forum! Someone asked what your goal was. For general fitness and to spice things up, the Pete Plan beginner program (don't be bothered by the name) might be an interesting choice. Something tells me you are geared toward a little intensity a...

Re: Training how often?
For you skeptics I think I understand the issue...and you're correct that my times look too good to be true. I sometimes use a concept2 (not sure what model, whatever the gym closest to home has) but mostly use a WaterRower (not sure what model, whatever the gym closest to work has). According to th...

Re: Training how often?
Getting back to the point....rowers row. I find it to be a sport that is very forgiving when it comes to training virtually every day. In my case it is strictly indoors (no on the water), six days a week, in the 55k to 60k range, with occasional weeks hitting 100k. The very best will hit 200k weeks...
