From Sweep to Sculling: A Six Week Challenge
I've recently picked up sculling at our school's summer training program. I've been out in the 2x three times, and my coach feels like I'm picking it up quickly. He wants to have me out in a scull by the end of the week. Here's the question. There's a regatta mid-summer in my hometown. I'm seriously...

I honestly feel like I"m meant to be a coxswain. I'm the girl in the bow who keeps us together (Don't ask about our cox... nobody likes her, she doesn't function well as a coxswain) I'm the one at 5:00 in the morning up and ready to go, happy as a clam. I'm the one behind the guys during their 20 mi...

Do it! Joining Crew (D2 school, however it's a club sport) was the best decision of my life. Even though we're only club, we're HIGHLY competitive and we've got our eyes set on medals at Vails this year. I'm going to be straight up with you, if you do row through college, be prepared to have NO life...

Days off
Days off are essential! If you don't give your body a day to recover, you'll end up like me: in pain, fatigued, and ready to throw in the towel. I'm a collegiate rower, and I decided to push the envelope during winter training. I ended up with a messed up back and extreme fatigue (and anemia, but th...

I put in about 2 hours a day erging, and I dropped 30 pounds of fat between September and March, and I gained a LOT of muscle strength. This was without any calorie counting/food restriction (and on a college pizza and pop diet). Just pull daily. I recommend 3x30 minutes , 2x10k, anything long and a...

Yes, I have 50-60 pounds to lose I'm 5'5 and at last weigh-in I was 190. I'm going into this with a positive attitude, but if it gets to the point where I can't lose any more weight, then I'll know that's where my body needs to be. As for getting into the exercise grind... I already practice 2-3 hou...

Our team's clothing coordinator has extras, so I may pop in and try a few on. I ended up buying a large underarmour coldgear shirt in large, and it's snug, but not terrible. He said that they fit pretty much like those shirts, so I'm leaning toward going for the large. Thank you SO much for the imput.

JL sizing?
My team had leftover longsleeve JL shirts, and I'm thinking about buying one. However, I've never had to buy spandex type clothing, and I'm at a loss for what size I should purchase.
I'm 5'5, 190 pounds, 40D chest. I'm leaning between the large and the XL. Any suggestions?
