Thanks Denise...I'm not sure I was clear...my logbook says I'm on the team but it says the team is not signed up for this event. I'm assuming now that it's all good and I'll start to row tomorrow AM!
Thanks and happy new year--Gail

Re: Goals
Hi guys...looking forward to the January Challenge, too. I fell off the Holiday Challenge wagon...started well but am writing a book and chapters were due at the publisher, which interferred with rowing. I just tried to select Ducks and Friends Together to activate that in my logbook and it says tha...

Like Schenley, what I did last year worked well for me from a fitness perspective--I rowed about 1.5 million meters last year while improving time and endurance. What I didn't do was get to LW status and to get there, I'm going to have to resolve to eat better and change up my workouts. I've lost ov...

Hi all...I finished the Holiday Challenge this AM...204K to be exact. I seemed to get ahead of the game for a while (I rowed a 1/2 marathon early in December, which helped), but needed lots of short rows over the past few weeks, as things have gotten busier. Since I'm now obsessed by the ARC trainer...

After cutting back a bit on exercise in general in February, I'm ready for March Madness. My goal for the month is 250K, however that may be a bit lofty based on the fact that my mom has been ill out of town and I'm back and forth, along with the regular work stuff, and an out of town swim meet for ...

Thanks for all the encouragement in Jan. I didn't get to 200K meters...my mom ended up hosptialized and I was out of town but was able to erg 2 of those days at a local health club after I left the hosptial. I was out of town several days this week doing a presentation...not only did I not erg, I di...

Hi all...glad to see what progress everyone is making...I was doing well until I had to go out of town for a meeting then my mom was hosptialized, so my focus has been poor. Looking forward to cranking out 50K in the next week to meet my goal of 200K for the month (just in time to go out of town aga...

My goal is to row 50K a week, so I met that goal for this week. This coming week will be difficult as I'm at a Board meeting between Wednesday and Saturday...the gym at the hotel is nice (this is my last year of 7 years on this Board, so this hotel is my home away from home) but no erg. So, I've bee...

I prefer longer rows, too, but will row for 30 minutes if that's what I have the time to do. I worked with a trainer for a brief period last year (he didn't get rowing or me, we weren't a good match) but I did walk away with some good information. He talked to me about the concept of "collateral" ex...

Thanks Susan for being the team captain. After doing the 200K holiday challenge and losing 7 pounds along the way, I'm ready for JVC. I plan on rowing 200K or more in January and trying to improve times. I'm hoping to row a 1/2 marathon during January, too. I have been rowing since December, 2005 an...
