Re: Is there a “natural stroke rate” for height etc.

if you or on nr.6 seat of an eight and stroke decides to row R32 - then you go with him or get wet..
you should row rates that are appropriate for that piece and be able to vary.

The rate defines the pace - the longer pieces are done at lower rates than the shorter pieces

Re: weird lump: should I erg?

hi karolina,
there are not many people here on the board that could offer a qualified medical opinion for your question.
Quite honestly, I would refer your question to a proffesional.

It sounds like it could just be swelling from the impact (try leaning back more), but I have no medial background

Re: Tall rower struggling to sync

OTW:
a) go 1x
b)train with a mens team
c) ask to go stroke ;)

Indoor:
20k is a little on the lowside for building up endurance. and it sounds as tho this is your achiles at the moment.

You need to build up your endurance and strength and most of all, dont let it get you down!

Re: Rowing after a meal

I guess it depends on what you eat as well as when. I had a few health things, that I was convinced were nutrition related, so i was swapping and trying different things for a while. I'm quite happy at the moment and am making better progress than I was. For me I swapped to a plant based diet (vegan...

Re: Polar OH1 heart rate monitor and PM5

i have quite a lot of HR monitors... not sure why, pretty sure my wife doesnt know about them all. anyway - i also have the oh1 and used it with several others to compare. i found it to be as accurate as the H7/Garmin HRM Tri within a certain tolerance band. Suprisingly enough the Apple watch 4 show...

Re: At what age did you notice recovery was impaired?

finding the sweet spot (supercompensation) is a tight line to walk in any training plan.
We aren't robots, our physiology changes.

You can quite easily step into training during a recovery phase - it can spiral quickly after that.

Best thing to do is:
rest, recover, return...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

HI! training a bit sporadic. Mixture between OTW and offline - same old same old. Last week mentions: did my longest stint in a quad on the rhein (main river full of pleasure cruisers, speedboats, yuppies and tankers.) for those that know me, they know i prefer longer distances over sprints... the r...
