Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice
Just to continue with some other random lessons learned... 4) Damper Setting There's lots of confusion about damper settings on the rower. The science can be understood here. http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training/tips-and-general-info/damper-setting-101 The key to this is what the article s...

Re: Weight loss challenge?
Not that I know of, but you can set up an affiliation on the Concept 2 site and by doing so you may attract others to join the team perhaps.

Re: Rowing for Weight Loss
Hi Pivotal, If I were you I'd start cutting out the rest periods between the 5 minutes sessions, perhaps start by reducing by 30s each rest and continuing to reduce until you can row for 30 minutes without a rest break in between at all. Re: Belly in the way of finishing the stroke
Hi Kaiyara, Given that you're 6'2" a stroke rate of 24 spm looks a little too high to me, I'm 6'1" and usually I'm around 20 to 22 spm when rowing longer distance, steady state type work. Re: Fat Noob needs starting advice
Hi everyone, I've been reading this thread with interest as I'm just coming back to rowing after a year or so off due to work constraints and have a few pounds to lose and a significant amount of fitness to regain. Not much weight to lose by some peoples targets here, I've always been in reasonable ...

Heart rate variation - just for interest
Hi, I've been using a model D since May and just about at 900,000m rowed so far and loving it. I have a question I'm curious about and hope that those of you out there who are doctors perhaps or cardio experts can help... I drink about half a litre of water 5 to 10 mins prior to rowing. After about ...
