Re: Fixed seat erging
Hi I'm a member of a coastal rowing club - we row fixed seat, wood constructed, sweep oared boats. I feel there are conflicting views on erg testing amongst fixed seat rowers, whenever a club uses ergs to aide the process of deciding who is fittest. Some people think that the seat should be 'clampe...

Re: Disappointed on my 1st 2k rowing
Hello all, I am new in this forum, not in rowing. For the last 2 years, I have been rowing on a cheap model and the next step was to invest in a brand new Concept2 rower. No regret on that, it is what I was looking for. However, based on my previous sessions on the cheap rower, I thought I would na...

Re: Back Injury Pre Rowing
I have chronic lower back pain and take CBD for it. Of all the meds and stuff I tried for it, CBD works the best. It helps calm the pain and manage it.
I recommend trying it. As proof, this page on medical cannabis for lower back pain describes its benefits. Read it and convince yourself.

Re: PM5 Display Won't Turn On
Do you have a first generation PM5 by chance ? You can tell by the colour of the two screws inside the battery compartment if it will not turn on to be able to check the Product ID screen. If they are black its a first generation. The screws are silver from the second Gen onwards. I had one that th...

Re: Is this rower a real or fake?
Looking to buy a concept 2 rower, wondering if this is a legitimate item and what model it is, started to read about fakes and getting worried as I'm going to look at it later. https://photos.app.goo.gl/KC4kKf8HwL7VULEU8 - the serial number sticker looked odd, the concept 2 site says the date of ma...

Re: PM5 obsolete?
Totally agree! The PM5 does feel outdated, especially compared to modern smartwatches and fitness trackers. A larger, more modern display and improved connectivity would make a huge difference. I'd love to see Concept 2 incorporate more advanced biometrics and seamless integration with popular devic...

Re: Back Pain
I can relate to experiencing lower back pain, especially after suddenly increasing activity or changing workout intensity. For me, this pain would often show up after I pushed myself too hard in activities I wasn't consistently doing, much like your situation with the Ski Erg. The pain was sharp and...

Re: Knee pain after 500k this month
Last year, I went too hard preparing for a marathon and my knees paid the price. What really helped me out was this thing called laser therapy. It doesn't hurt or require anything scary. They use a special kind of light to ease the pain and help the knee get better by working deep under the skin to ...

Re: Weight loss / Type 2 Diabetes
I had an appointment today with my Diabetes specialist Doctor. My 8 months of training have helped quite a bit. My glucose levels have dropped from 12.6 to 6.2, which, I have been told is very good. Weight loss, I’m down from 126kg to 98kg. Training wise I have been doing 1x 30 min row session, 7 d...

Re: 30+ minute workouts?
I've used the SkiErg on and off, and in my experience, you can definitely use it for longer sessions. Like any machine, it's about pacing yourself. I've seen folks doing both short, intense blasts and longer, steadier workouts.

Re: How much can I improve my 2K time in 3 months?
Hi f2d, What number was your damper set to when you achieved your best 2k time? Have you experimented with the damper setting in different 2k pieces? Was pulling on the handle with force more or less difficult than maintaining your breath at the end of the piece? Achieving maximum performance in the...
