erratic pm3

My pm3 started giving erratic readings on the spm. spm would jump from 20's to the 80's. The monitor did it several times throughout my workout. If the monitor gives bad spm readings does this affect the other readings at all? Any info on why the monitor is acting this way would be appreciated.

I did go to the other company's website and found a USA dealer. The dealer couldn't say when the new model would be available for sale here. The rep said the cost would probably run from two to three thousand dollars. Which says to me that Concept 2 rowing machines are still by far the best rower fo...

This is not the first time other rowing machines have been discussed on this forum. It is a forum for discussion. I own a Concept2 but am interested in what other manufacturers are putting out also. Xeno, who runs a studio with Concept 2 machines, has promoted Rowperfect as well.

Anyone know the status of the new rowperfect rowing machine? Xeno promoted it heavily a while back but I have not heard anything about it since.

fixing factory defect in Model D

In fixing the factory defect in the recent Model D's, I've noticed that when connecting the rower, it is very tight. I have limited space, so I have to connect and disconnect the rower frequently. Does anyone have a similar experience? I'm pretty sure I installed those plates correctly. There is som...

pain in mid-back, rib area

Recently I have pain in mid-back, rib cage area. It hurts to take a deep breath and I have limited movement. Any experience in this area and what I may have done? I think I may have hurt it playing golf, but could this be the result of too much rowing as well ?

drag factor

I do have a small population of "most everyone"- the posts I read here and the Concept2 material I get from them. I just haven't seen anybody post examples of high DF workouts or promote high DF workouts, when and how often it would be practical to use them.

drag factor

It seems most everyone advises against using a high drag factor in the 160 plus range. Even Concept2 advises doing most of their workouts with a damper level setting of 3-5. If high drag factors aren't good, then why does Concept 2 have damper settings up to 10? Is it a marketing ploy just so say th...

new rowperfect

Anyone getting the new rowperfect? Is it worth the extra money and does anyone see it replacing the concept2 as the standard in rowers, especially with people like Xeno pushing it?

correct foot placement

What is the correct height for foot placement. I have approximately three holes showing and my heel is even with the rail. Is this correct. Does it matter that much.

reasonable erg time goal for 2000k

I'm approximately 5'5" and 185 and in good shape. What is a reasonable goal to shoot for in a 2000k. What role does height play on the rower? Does being shorter and not having as long a pull stroke prevent me from having a low time such as in the low 6 min. range?

2000m ?

Should I be concerned with SPM or time per 500m when doing a 2000m timed race? Does rowing at 33 SPM at 1:50 pace cover any more ground than 23SPM at the 1:50 pace.
