Re: Ranger's training thread
I had cut back to reading the last page of this thread one day a week ... sadly I seemed to have a feeling of deja' vu each time. What an incredible surprise that things have come to an abrupt head! I will visit at 9:22 EST to see how this chapter closes. The post from Dougie does leave me wondering...

Re: Ranger's training thread
This just in... HOCR draw! http://www.roninregistration.com/hocrcompetitors.aspx?p=hocr&pt=rowing&GroupID=68916&ItemID=1830606 Ah. That's too bad. I was looking forward to it. Perhaps it's for the best, though. This is my last fall semester of teaching before I retire. After this fall, I won't have...

He would then be the head douche in a room full of douches ... spinning tales of BS in a non-stop hum of BS ... which sounds a lot like a peotry class I think!aharmer wrote: When UofM finally pushes you out the door you should run for a seat in the US HOR. Re: Ranger's training thread
Even more interesting to me is others intentionally change rangers post and they are not banned ... un-level playing field jumps to mind. An excellent point, and one I have considered. Ultimately I don't have a problem with someone changing what another poster wrote, so long as it's made clear that...

Re: Ranger's training thread
It doesn't matter how elegant your stroke curve was Elegant? The issues are effectiveness and efficiency. ranger For reference, PaulS didn't write the text quoted above (I did). So ranger is, once again, suspended as a reminder not to deliberately misquote others. A response to the above post (spli...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Technical improvement does not necessarily lead to a linear improvement in 2K scores, all along the line. I totally agree with this. It does, however, lead to *some* improvement, which yours has failed to do. Even if we agree with the basic premise that in 2006 the sub 6:30 2K was not rangers full ...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Thanks Byron! As you can see, ranger, one of the defining characteristics of your training history is precisely that you *don't* know when your technique is established, despite your confident assertions. That's why so few people believe your predictions; it's not because we're cruel cynics, it's b...

Well that sounds like a design flaw ...NavigationHazard wrote:The sig file is separate from the stored posts. When you update it, it retroactively applies the new sig to all prior posts.
I went back to the UK forum but the search won't find 1:48 FM posts ... too bad.

Re: FM coming soon: a familiar melody

Re: FM coming soon: a familiar melody
Byron ... I love these history lessons! My FM trials will set my targets, and these trials are coming up soon. One of the attractions of this thread is that it is so predictable. It is like hearing the same song you have heard hundreds of times. Maybe you don't even like the tune, but it is comforti...

Re: Ranger's training thread
When I sharpen this year, I'll also sharpen like everyone else. At the heart of it you just keep repeating the same old, tired story ... "I will do x" followed by "I didn't do x". The only think that changes is the excuse on why you didn't do x. You list your best 2K times in the past five years .....

Re: Ranger's training thread
Nice 2.5 hour, 42.5-mile bike ride I rode 42.49 miles in 2:42:05. Nice bit of rounding there ranger. So actually less than three minutes shy of two and three-quarter hours  Doubtless you apply the same accuracy to your erg reporting. We saw an example of this rounding on the "I own two homes ...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Interestingly, Mike C. jumped on this thread a while ago and ridiculed this training plan even though his 2K has fallen off by 18 seconds during his 40s, from 6:18 to 6:36. You’d like to make it sound as if I’m picking on you for no reason ... It seems that every post ranger makes has some detail o...

Re: Ranger's training thread
You haven't done anything. ?? Not sure what you mean by that. I already have a sub-6:30 2K @ 12 SPI--without even preparing for it. Rowing well at low drag, fully prepared, I'll now pull 6:16 @ 12.5 SPI (1:34 @ 34 spm). I think I might also have the best overall record of any veteran rower, 40 to 7...
