Re: Pete Plan Summer 2015 starts June 14
A month of traveling south america and a week of jetlag induced couch potato => Time to start again from scratch. Started with a steady 6k today, felt good. Isn't it just amazing just how fast your body decays when you get lazy? Indeed! I wasn't expecting it to be this bad though. Didn't feel like ...

Re: Pete Plan Summer 2015 starts June 14
Beasts, all of you.
First training of week 8 after a weekend of way too much alcohol and not enough sleep.
8.5k @ r24 2:13 average split. (Did 8k in 2:12 last week and felt way better then)
Don't know if I should be disappointed or just glad I finished.
Next 8.5k below 2:10 as punishment?

Re: Pete Plan Summer 2015 starts June 14
Pacing is a big mystery yes :-D. Mostly just figuring it out as i go. Trying to atleast keep the strokerate steady. Hopefully i'll be able to pace better once I have some more experience with the various exercises. The variation is fun though. Currently only doing the 3 core sessions + 1 x on the wa...

Alright. Week 7 of the beginner plan is done. 2x 8k @ 2:12 s/m 24 . Exact same pace only didn't speed up when finishing the second training. 7x500 @ 1:56 s/m 29. Started out below 1:55 for the first 3 reps but hit a wall. Finished with a sprint at 1:45 to make up. Guess I can go faster if i want. Ju...

Time for week 7 of the beginner plan after an unproductive but fun festival weekend. 8000 meter @ r24 2:12,3. Focus on steady stroke rate of 24. Didn't feel great but tank isn't empty either and finished 'strong'. 10k is in my sights!

Re: Pete Plan Summer 2015 starts June 14
Jack, I can relate to the reasoning concerning younger rowers! Especially in a rowing club which is really focused on competition. Recreational rowers are limited to me and a woman who is rowing to improve her core strength for marathons...needless to say she also kicks my but. I'll definately use t...

Re: Pete Plan Summer 2015 starts June 14
New poster here. I have been rowing on the water since last october now and recently bought a model d to develop some stamina & speed. (29m; 1m80; 78kg) Currently in week 6 of the beginner plan. 7500 m r24 2:10.4 average. I see I have my work cut out to reach anything acceptable in terms of speed an...
