Re: Air Rower, same as a concept2?
It's worth depends on what you want to get out of it. If it's just a workout then it might be worth it. But since you're on here my guess is that the ranking lists and logbook features play a role in your workout, if that's true then a knockoff that maybe has a lighter flywheel or a monitor that doe...

Re: Asking for advice: replacing my model C or not
I own a model C from 2003, I upgraded to a PM5 in 2016 or 17, I have over 22,000,000 meters on the model C and have no issues with either the erg or the monitor. I also use ergdata with no issues

Re: Ranking comparison
The long and the short of it is the rankings are an Honor System (see #10 in the rules at the bottom of the ranking page). It has a set of rules, that, if followed, allow one to compare themselves with others with high confidence. If you are not following the rules, then you can't compare to even you...

Re: Durability of rower
I purchased my model C in 2003 and have accumulated 22,100,000 meters. I believe the ergs are tested to 500 pounds (someone can correct me if I am wrong)

I would suggest 7k four times a week, as said earlier in this thread what you're doing now will produce very limited results if any at all.

Re: Reading damper
As your rower gets older (and dustier in the fan cage) the drag will change (go Down) in relation to the damper setting, so as time goes on it will be useless for anything.

Re: How much improvement is possible in a few months?
The problem here is that you guys are competitors and the vast majority of the rest of the world is not. The rankings were conceived as a motivator for that vast majority and you guys now want to alter it to be a competitive tool. C2, in there right mind, would never change this, it is what they use...

Re: How many meters?
A quick look at the Annual Meters Honor Board will show that there are many above 100 million. I looked up Eric Nelson and just taking the millions and adding them up yields over 210 million since 2003

Re: Do you do a "running start" during intervals?
for me, I am always in competition with myself and I use intervals to determine my race pace, 4x1000 Rest 6 or 8x500 Rest 3 or 6x500 Rest 1 etc. So I want my intervals to be as close to a standing start as possible, so I stop rowing at the end of an interval and start the next interval when I see th...

Re: 1000m Rankings Current
The 2 gyms closest to me have model C's with PM2+, 4 machines in all with between 22 and 30 million meters on each, I bought my model C 6 months before the D was introduced (If I had known, I would have waited). The point is, these things last forever, I'm sure there are a lot of people out there wi...
