Hello all! Late tomorrow I will get home from constant travels, good food and wine during the last two weeks period. I do not think the 18.15 is very doable this weekend but lets see. Perhaps two weeks of rest is the ticket :-) I have checked for sessions on Oarbits but could not check RowPro beta o...

12k with some speed variety today.
1500 at 2.00 followed by 500 at 1.55.
In theory it would end at 47.30 but I went a bit to fast in the fast 500's and completed in 47.19,4 and 23 spm average.

In all a nice, pretty easy session that builds nicely towards my first 1M season :-) (47k to go)

It is tough. Especially that the heart ticks so slowly nowdays. And that I now can eat all the food that is bad for me without any problems, so I have to! And that people sometimes laugh and do not believe me when I say I have kids in University. And the bloody machine has invided my library as well...

Re: Height problem

HI Im 14 and 2/3 and I started rowing on a C2 in November last year. I used to swim competitively before that. I'm just wondering if rowing will help or not effect or stunt my growth. Im 5"10, row 5 KM 3-4 days a week and run 20-40 mins 3-4 times a week. Thanks You need to train very much more to a...

Re: 5 k row next weekend

Stefan - nice row yesterday- with challenge row in 3 weeks maybe a Handicap 5 k test next week and see if we can get handicap right. If you row at 1:50 pace for 1st 4000 then see if you can bring it down to 1:49 over last 1000 - it would give some good feedback on what strategy needed for an all ou...

I was trying to set up a 12k on RowPro but of course the server is down today...

So I did it by myself.
12k - 47.23,7 (1.58,5) - 23 spm
Perhaps slightly fast for a recovery day but it felt nice.

Netted a 2.1 second improvement for a new target of 1:50.4  I feel much better now :D That session is supposed to be 5k pace, so I am looking good for reaching that crazy target you suggested Stefan, which is only 1:52.5 pace. Your improvements are increadible! You will blow away that 5k tar...

Greg: You've dragged me out of my cave. The surgery went well and I'm finally cleared to climb back on the erg. (Let's out best "Braveheart" yell). Yesterday was a 60-minute row (16,208 meters; 1:51.1 average). I can't wait to start catching up with everyone! Best, Jamie Inspired by Greg Cook! Welc...

I hope I can make it Saturday evening!

Today I did 12k with a bit of fartlek in total 1.59,5 speed. It was mainly to get back on the erg after four days of travels. I did weights in a gym yesterday and my legs were a bit sore from the squats.

I've set it up for Sunday night, 19:00 GMT (One day I'll make it up with my mother-in-law).

My target is 11:30, but we'll determine the delay times on Sunday night, you never know who is going to join.
Thanks, I have registred.
That should be fun!

michaelb wrote:Would anyone be interested in doing a race paced 3k (or 3.5k maybe) one of these weekends as prep? If I could row that at 1:48, that would give me confidence I could hold 1:50 for 5.
Yes, Saterday or Sunday would be fine for me and I can probably follow on the 1:48. Would be fun!

Good fast interval Gerhard. That kind of workout will bring speed back quickly!

I did 3.0 - 2.5 - 2.0 k with 5 min rest today.
last time I did 1.50,9.
This time 1.49,1 with 28 spm.
That is a hard workout but probably very good preparation for a 5k.
