Since last December
It is rather quiet this year. I really only show up for the Holiday Challenge. Since 2007, I've been running--one marathon and two half marathons and few shorter races. I was in Philadelphia in November for a half. What a lovely city--except for the horn honking. Seemed rather loud to my provincial ...

Best Wishes to All
Well, I left it to the last minute, but I managed to complete the challenge. I am beginning to feel that reaching the 200,000 metre goal is as much a holiday tradition at my home as baking shortbread. To those who participated this year, all good wishes of the season and may the new year bring peace...

February goals: good news/bad news
Well, I can't say I have stuck with all my goals but that being said, I have done pretty well with some of them. I wanted to get back to running this month and I have. I am involved with a clinic to prepare for a half marathon. I have completed three weeks and so far, my ailments are under control. ...

Hearts in a Row
Well, here goes for February: 1. I have committed to run a half-marathon in May. We will see if I am able to see this through. I am recovering from plantar fasciitis and have chronic ITB problems so I may have to back off on this one, but I truly miss running and am hopeful that I can get back to it...

New Thread
Done! Done! Done! 300,000 metres.
It is definitely glass o wine time.
Congratulations to everyone to participated. As others have said, it is time to contemplate the next round of short term goals. Will come up with something practical in the next day or two.

New Thread
Hello. I think the idea of a new thread is a good one. I must say I think I have overdone it a bit with the rowing but with only two days left, I also believe I can keep up the effort til the end. I am beginning to get the odd look at the health club as people silently question whether I am permanen...

Yoga DVDs
By the way, does anyone have any recommendations on a yoga video that moves slow. One in which the poses are held for a bit before they move into the next pose. I've been studying up on different yoga styles and it seems that the Iyengar style is what I am looking for but I can't find a video of th...

Resolutions in a Row
Hello ladies, Well, I seem to be cross-rowing. . . or something. First off, I am a committed RIAR member. However, I was recently contacted by an individual to join an all-Canadian team. I declined but he contacted me again today indicating that Concept2, after a few requests, is permitting us to af...

Resolutions in a Row
Hello all: I am aiming to row five times a week for this challenge. For four of these, I will be using a weight loss program that is available on the Concept 2 UK site and for the final session, I plan a long, steady row. My children are now 16 and 20, and only the younger of the two currently lives...

DIAR January Challenge
Hello Susan: I like either of your suggested team names. I also like the idea of committing to rowing five times a week. Soooooo, if you do captain a team, I would like to join you. I am almost finished with the Holiday Challenge. I completed most of the metres on a Model D at my health club but rev...

Re: January Challenge
I would like to participate in the January Challenge. I think one big team would be fine but a distinct name, other than Ducks in a Row, would probably be a good idea. There seemed to be several great suggestions last year and I am sure someone will come up with something brilliant in short order. N.
