Bert, congrats on qualifying for Boston! Kudos to you. Welcome new members! Happy New Year n' stuff! I'm in the middle of "restarting" after the holiday challenge as well. I was doing really good (made the 200k) but then I got the flu, really bad, over the holidays. So now, I'm back and rowing again...

There was a halloween challenge this past fall: betwen Oct 25-Oct 31. An iron-on/certificate was available if you hit 31km. That was a snap. For the holiday challenge, I hit 130km today. Shooting for 200, so with 10 days left and 7-10kms to do, that should be no problem...so long as work doesn't end...

I support Igoeja's selections of Soundgarden, STP, Pearl Jam! I've augmented those "grunge" tracks with some newer Audioslave songs; I can listen to those albums straight through, or until I hit my meter-goal for the day. I guess I'm a metal/grunge/alternative/rock fan...so my apologies if this list...

I've always had a dodgy back; typically once a year I'd strain a muscle and be sidelined for a few weeks. I started erging and only once did I strain my back; it was when I was training for a half-marathon. I could feel my technique slacking and that's when it happened. Once you learn your limits an...

Hey guys, I just signed up this past week. I'm usually an every-other-day rower. 10k is my New benchmark (just bumped up from 7.5k two weeks ago) and so far I'm just under 40 mins...so long as i've gotten enough sleep (work schedule sometimes prevents it). I took the end of April and most of May off...

Hi, I bought a Concept II model C last October via Ebay. It sat on my porch until December, when I started and haven't stopped except for the month of April, when I moved from Wisconsin to Rhode Island. I weighed 298 lbs in Dec. and am now down to 252. I think the precipitous weight loss has ended a...
