Re: Slides versus Static Erging
Personally I find my times are MUCH better on slides than static, which seems to be the view of Rowing Australia as well to a lesser degree (see below). I'm not getting a warm, fuzzy feeling from this post. The article referred to is mostly talking about tests on a static erg. The 4x1000 rows were ...

Re: Cant keep seat under me
Maybe try using a concept2 seat pad? I find I 'stick' to the seat pad more than I do the seat without a seat pad

Re: Slides versus Static Erging
Interesting topic Personally I find my times are MUCH better on slides than static, which seems to be the view of Rowing Australia as well to a lesser degree (see below). I do most of my training on slides or a RowPerfect but sometimes do workouts on statics if e.g. I am travelling and so using a ho...

Re: Speed speed speed
I am a 1000m specialist (I row masters OTW) and I sometimes race over 2k. Agree with dwalk - constant split (or close to) is way better than going at 1k pace and flying and dying. My 2k split for 500m is ~7 seconds slower than my 1k split.

Impact of multiple races in a day
Interested in your thoughts on the impact of multiple races in a day - I am a masters OTW rower, we race over 1000m and during a regatta can have a number of races in a day (typically ~4, heats and final for 2 events). Obviously the heats are rowed at an easier pace than the finals. If the finals ar...

Re: Heart rate on C2
I have wondered exactly the same thing and I had concluded that it is the HR at the end of the split / interval (which is generally also the max for me). Whereas spm for a split appears to be the average.

Re: Training in more than one zone in a session?
Thanks all for your thoughts / comments, think clear it was really training in only one zone despite intentions! Apologies I should have mentioned that the entire session was OTW so I don't measure / record speed or watts. My AT watts is around 175W on the C2, 2k time 7:35 (on slides).
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Training in more than one zone in a session?
Greetings, I train OTW / erg ~6-7 times a week, compete in masters OTW regattas (42yrs old, 65kgs), pretty competitive. We have a very old school coach, not quite sure where he gets his sessions from sometimes :) and some of them make me wonder how productive they are in terms of achieving performan...
