Question on Tapering down for a 2K

How long and how do you recommend tapering for a 2k? Should I back off on the SS and concentrate on the interval pieces sho...

Rowing Shoeless
Is erging in your socks better than erging in your tennis shoes? Is there a loss of power from your shoes "cushioning" the drive? Are there injury repercussions of erging with no shoes (besides a couple blisters on your heel and ball of foot)?

Your drag factor is set pretty low. A drag factor for a "race boat" feel would be around 115-125. Stroke rate can be decieving as it depends a lot on the rower, I am 6'4" tall so when I row at a 22-23 stroke rating I'm going to have faster splits than someone shorter than me. However if you are conc...

If your form is correct and your shoulders are relaxed and the catch and you should not have any "jerkiness". Be sure to drive with your legs first and break your arms after they cross over you knees. Most people (from my observations) that have a jerky catch is a result of pulling with their arms t...

Weight Training
What types of weight training benefit rowers the best. Outside the obvious squats, and lat pull downs. Any suggestion on reps, higher weight lower reps or lower weight higher reps?
I've haven't been erging as much as I do in the winter (since I live in Chicago I have to take full advantage of the warm weather when we have it) so I've been jogging, biking and OTW rowing. I was holding 1:48s with a 24-25 stroke rating and dropped it way down on the last 300 meters to 1:40 to get...
