Re: New Senior Training Program Suggestions

My ERG is here, set up and I am very pleased with the PM5 Monitor compared to my former PM3. First session and my form came right back, but man am I out of shape. I'll be taking it easy for a few weeks.

New Senior Training Program Suggestions

Background: I am 84, yep 84. I previously had an Erg in 2010, doing light training. Then on a USA trip my Mitral Valve blew out. Repair and no more exercise for a long time. Thereafter I developed heart insufficiency and Atrial Fibrillation. After many ablations without success over the years I now ...

I tried Glucosamine and Chondroitin (GC) for well over 6 months and it made absolutely no difference in my knees and shoulders. It did dent my wallet severely. One explanation for the apparent improvement with Glucosamine and Chondroitin (GC) is that Arthritus tends to have flare up periods, people ...

As I said, analog spring scales. I have never seen a beam balance scale in a normal bathroom. The Tanita scales use solid state pressure transducers to sense your weight. I have a Tanita Digital, and it is accurate to 100 grams, or 3.5 ounces!! Tanita has many models, with the lower accuracy costing...

I hope all of you are using good digital scales with good repeatability? Test this by getting on and off a few times. Mine always give the same weight. My experience with analog spring scales shows they are mostly very poor. You can make large changes in the displayed weight just by changing your po...

James you forgot "Exercise combined with a diet (reduction in calorie intake)". Then you will lose if you burn through exercise, a total that is higher than consumption. Also, I am your age, but because of a leaky mitral valve (heart) my cardiologist doesn't want me to have a HR over 140. So I must ...

When the fan has accumulated dust and lint, the force pull needed at a given vent setting becomes much lower (pulls easier). To see this, pull as you usually do, and then on the next pull have some one place a piece of cloth on the side of the fan cage. To clean, just remove the right side fan cover...

John I found the German forum discussion, the only thing they like is the monitor display. It's apparently made in China or Taiwan.

Of course you could check into their forum but there isn't any.

I use the HR sensor on my C2 D model as well as a Polar 625x on my wrist. I get occasional dropouts which may last several seconds on the C2 monitor, but the 625x tracks just fine. The 625x is more accurate than the C2 monitor.
