I went over to the general thread and it looks like this idea is already being implemented, see http://67.199.38.245/c2coastal/default.aspx Its a bit different in that it looks like they are taking the cumulative meters of everyone together to row around the coastlines of the continents. BTW, here i...

You can probably steal the code from those existing google gadgets. http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/small_counter.asp?user=142454 It's 40,075,020m round the equator. Hi Citoen (ok, if your user number is 142454, you must be "Dougie"?). It looks like the code is on the server side, an ASP script?...

Citroen - frappr doesnt quite look like what I'm suggesting
Thanks for the feedback. I checked out the frappr site. It looks like its just a static overlay of your position onto the map - interesting, but lets improve on it. I'm suggesting that we take that idea and embed it into the C2 log site and update the position file continuous and then project everyo...

GoogleMap erging mashup?
Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I was thinking about ways to maybe come up with additional visualizations for the rowing challenges that C2 provides - to motivate and increase interest in the challenges. An  that I had (please forgive its been brought up before - didn't fi...

See LogCard Utility 6.0
Check out the new LogCard Utility 6.0 for uploads to the online log. Just tried it this weekend and it worked! This is great, no more manually enterring all of the workouts (which I did once a month and was a major pain in the butt). See http://www.concept2.com/us/support/software/logcard_utility/de...

Wow, as the originator of this thread I’m surprised that it’s gotten this much traction. In any case, I just wanted to give an update on my progress. Haven't fallen out in a while and I'm not really that worried about it anymore, which probably helps me not to fall out. I don’t make the beginner mis...

An update on my progress
Things are improving for me. I've been on the water every Sat and Sun morning for the last month. I havent fallen out of the shell in a while now. Although I have had a few close calls, they are getting fewer and farther between. This morning we had perfectly flat water, which was great. I had a muc...

On learning to scull
After buying and now getting through about 2M+ meters on my C2/D, I decided that I should try to learn the real thing. So I went and took some beginners sculling classes and joined my local rowing club. I didn’t realize how difficult this was going to be. I have to admit, I’ve only got about 20 hour...

Mission Bay Acquatic Center
Hi Jim. I'm here in SD also. Just wanted to let you know about another rowing resource here in SD - Mission Bay Acquatic Center. Among other classes, they teach both sweep rowing and sculling, see http://www.missionbayaquaticcenter.com/rowing.htm . And after you complete their classes, you can rent ...
