You need a few things: 1. a LogCard (should have one shipped with your rower) 2. a USB lead (should have one shipped with your rower) 3. a laptop or PC (or MAC) - ideally internet connected. 4. a copy of the LogCard Utility from http://www.concept2.com/us/service/software/lcu/ Just for clarity, the...

I found a great non commercial web site on weight lifting. Check it out http://www.scoobysworkshop.com Enjoy. With a mere 15secs perusal, I would disagree. This guy is advocating body part splits which have little to no real athletic carryover. It breaks the synergistic cooperative of muscles and a...

I should be able to use the memory function to see how many workouts are recorded. Er no. That memory is limited, as soon as it's full the oldest workout is silently discarded. It's also a trivial task to reset the memory to zero. The way to keep workouts is to record them on a LogCard. If the PM3 ...

My personal objective is health, fitness and good looks (in that order). A while ago I have discovered Tony Horton's P90 and P90X workouts (beachbody.com). I find this by far the most comprehensive approach to peak performance and fitness. The programs include circuit strength training (body weight...

Hey Cynic, I found you over at JP Fitness Forums. I tried to subscribe, but I never got the confirming e-mail to my account (not even in my junk folder), so I can't post. Can you send a message to Jean-Paul letting him know I have the same problem as this other dude last week. My username is tbartm...

I'm buying a gently used Model D with PM3 for $650. The owner claims to have used it only twice and that they didn't have the space to keep it (might also be the kid didn't use it enough to warrant the father keeping it around). I should be getting it Thursday. Anyway, I got intro'd to rowing at wor...

Possibly, but after a year of rowing, I'm pretty sure your body has adapted to the workout form. You're probably eating over your AMR (Adjusted Metabolic Rate) in calories. It doesn't matter how long you workout, if you eat too much, you won't lose fat, and might even put some on. Try using fitday.c...

Re: Rowing and weight lifting
Can weight lifting improve your rowing? Can't say. Have I maintained my ability to crank it out on the erg (within the margin of error) with an exercise plan that is almost entirely weight lifting? Yes. You didn't need to stop rowing entirely. You could have done HIIT (akin to sprints) rather than ...
