I had my well used model C apart to clean it today and there was no play at all in the fly wheel bearings axially or radially. If you really have 2-3 mm of slop they may need to be replaced or adjusted.

I just purchased a Model C for my daughter and she wants a PM3 upgrade. I told her that can only happen if we can sell the PM2 to offset the cost a bit. Note this is a standard PM2.
