I've already made peace with this. As a 33 year-old with sub-par times, I'm going to do my best to maintain bone and muscle mass well into my mid-60s, assuming I make it that far, and *then* compete in the Nonathlon. If I do poorly at the time, I will be a bit sour. B)

Re: Rowing commercial

In keeping with March Madness I was watching some of the games while I was doing my erging. There was Red Bull commercial with rowing B) It was pretty funny. It was drawn, not real rowers, and 2 members of one crew were talking about being in the Boat Race, but were concerned that they were going t...

Re: JVC, I Need a team!!

Hi All I enjoyed last years Jvc very much and it motivated me big time!! I did my first row this year today due to a vacation trip! I would like to join a team for this years challenge!! I'm just a 'silly dutchman' according to some, but still..... who wants me, for his/her team? So? Which team did...

At first I couldn't figure out how the shoes were getting dirty because I only wear them on the erg. Quit using the straps! Bob S. Heh. If my coach said that 20 seconds before a race I'd probably laugh and then d...

Re: Erg feels heavy...

I went to do a nice easy 10k today, and after transporting my erg 200miles back from college, pulling on the erg it felt a lot more "resisting" than usual. I checked the damper setting and it was at 3.5 and the drag factor ended up being 110. Any ideas what could make it feel as if there was more r...

Can't post a link because the puzzle was in a newspaper, not online --- sorry Tyn. I'll try to explain it, though I know a lot will be lost in the explanation. The New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle always has a theme, and sometimes the theme is that a particular word, rather than a single lett...

I checked the times and the PI online. The PI had a couple of comments about a couple of people that did really well. The times only has archives back to 1990 online (and in 1990 they said someone won with a time of 9:xx for 25,000 (the 25,000 is not my typo)). The times also said that it was spons...

Re: Checking space req. before buying...

Hi all, I'm sold on the c2 in theory. However, I do not have the full 9 ft. in the spot where I'd like to use this. I am a few inches short on space... more like 105" rather than 108". However, I'm only about 5-9"... Can anyone tell me how serious the 9ft requirement is? And does that bake in a lit...

The standings page is changing, that's all. Probably a bit of code, or screwed up database. Should be right soon enough. I've always encouraged change around here, so ...happy. :D Hope.
